What is the Furlan Marri permanent collection?
It is Furlan Marri’s regular-production mechaquartz chronograph line, introduced in 2022 as the brand’s first permanent collection. Instead of relying on one-time or tightly limited pre-order allocations, the watches are intended to be sold from stock and restocked. Fratello Watches’ Thor Svaboe described the trio as retaining a “38mm case” while being “sold and shipped from stock and continuously restocked.” Stock can still change, but the model is designed to make ordering more predictable than a single-drop release.
Which Furlan Marri watch should I buy?
Choose Nero Sabbia for the most restrained dial
Nero Sabbia (Ref. 1072-A) combines a black-and-sand color scheme with printed Roman numerals, a pulsometer scale and a 60-minute chronograph counter. It is the least visually assertive of the three and suits buyers who want the period-chronograph look without a bright accent color.
Choose Rosso Grigio for the strongest contrast
Rosso Grigio (Ref. 1085-A) is the red-and-grey option. Launch coverage identifies its asthmometer/respiration scale, 24-hour sub-dial and 60-minute counter. The red-and-grey treatment gives it the boldest presence in the trio.

Choose Castagna for the warmest everyday palette
Castagna (Ref. 1009-A) uses brown, taupe and cream, with applied Breguet-style numerals, an asthmometer scale, and 60-minute and 24-hour counters. Its muted colors make it the warmest and most understated daily-wear choice.
These are design recommendations, not performance rankings: the three watches use the same basic movement architecture and case format. Because each includes two interchangeable leather straps, strap color and wardrobe pairing can be as decisive as the dial itself.

Rosso Grigio’s case, movement, water resistance and two-strap format are reported as matching the other references in WatchTime’s 2022 launch coverage. The dial treatment is the meaningful practical distinction.
Are Furlan Marri watches mechaquartz?
Yes. All three permanent-collection chronographs use Seiko’s VK64 hybrid mechaquartz architecture. Quartz regulates the timekeeping, while a mechanical chronograph module supplies the chronograph action and instant reset. Furlan Marri summarizes the concept as “Sweeping like a Mechanical, accurate like a Quartz.”

This is not a fully mechanical watch: the timekeeping remains quartz-regulated. The appeal is the combination of quartz convenience with a mechanically operated chronograph feel and reset behavior.

The 38 mm case and 46 mm lug-to-lug measurement give the watches a compact footprint, while the 11.5 mm case height (12 mm including glass) reflects the chronograph construction. The 50 m rating is suitable for everyday exposure to water, but it is not a substitute for a dedicated dive watch.
