The watch was Swatch and OMEGA’s Bioceramic MoonSwatch Mission to Earthphase – Moonshine Gold “Cold Moon,” reference SO33W701L. It launched on December 4, 2025, and after that date Swatch made worldwide in-store availability dependent on snowfall in Switzerland. The fixed campaign ended on March 20, 2026, and the surfaced official listing now marks the model sold out.
What was the snow-only MoonSwatch?
The Mission to Earthphase – Moonshine Gold “Cold Moon” is a white Bioceramic quartz chronograph with both earth-phase and moon-phase displays. Its unusual release rule applied to physical stores worldwide, not to online ordering: after launch day, Swatch stated that the watch would be available in stores only when it was snowing in Switzerland.

How the snowfall release worked
Launch day
Swatch opened the sales window on December 4, 2025, the date of the Cold Moon. That first day was part of the scheduled campaign rather than a weather-triggered release.
After December 4
Swatch’s official wording was: “After December 4, 2025 this model was available in stores worldwide only when it was snowing in Switzerland.” The condition referred to actual snowfall in Switzerland, even for customers shopping at a participating Swatch store elsewhere in the world.

How customers were told to check
Swatch told Hodinkee that customers should check the weather forecast on Swatch.com. On snowfall days, the watch was to be available at Swatch stores carrying the Bioceramic MoonSwatch Collection. This was a store-release mechanism, not a reservation or online-purchase system.
When the rule ended
The campaign had a fixed end date: March 20, 2026, the last day of winter. The weather rule therefore did not create an open-ended annual release.

What makes the Cold Moon different?
Earth-phase display
At 10 o’clock, the earth-phase indicator shows Earth as seen from the Moon. Swatch describes its cycle as 29.5 days and says it runs in reverse relative to the lunar phases. The oceans on the Earth image glow blue under ultraviolet light.
Moonshine Gold full moons
At 2 o’clock, two full moons are coated with OMEGA Moonshine Gold. One has Snoopy styling; the other carries a laser-applied snowflake design. Swatch says the treatment makes each watch unique, so no two examples have exactly the same snowflake pattern.

Winter space artwork and lume
Snoopy and Woodstock appear beneath the earth-phase indicator in a winter-themed space illustration. A hidden phrase becomes visible under UV light. The hour markers use Grade A Super-LumiNova and emit green light in darkness.
Wear and proportions
The 42 mm case is 13.75 mm thick with a 47.30 mm lug-to-lug measurement. The white rubber VELCRO strap is intended to keep the lightweight, casual MoonSwatch format, while the 3-bar rating calls for ordinary splash protection rather than swimming or diving.

Is the Cold Moon still available?
The official campaign is over, and the surfaced Swatch listing marks SO33W701L definitively sold out in that locale. The historical release rule should not be mistaken for current stock: a snowfall day after March 20, 2026 does not restart the program.
Independent coverage reported launch-era pricing of $450 in the United States and CHF 350 / €385 in Europe. Those figures describe the original retail period, not a current price or a guaranteed secondary-market value.

- Confirm the reference: look for Mission to Earthphase – Moonshine Gold “Cold Moon,” reference SO33W701L.
- Separate retail from resale: a listing that claims ordinary current Swatch-store availability conflicts with the ended campaign and sold-out official listing.
- Check the complete design: white Bioceramic case and dial, earth-phase display, Snoopy moon, snowflake moon and winter artwork should all be present.
- Assess seller authenticity: ask for a dated receipt, clear photographs of the watch and packaging, and a return policy. No authoritative production total, sales total or resale-price average has been established.
- Do not infer rarity from snowfall: the number of Swiss snowfall release days and the number of watches made have not been publicly established.
