The original Nodus Sector GMT is a compact, legible caller-style GMT with a 100-meter-rated case and a distinctive, information-dense dial. In Fratello’s 2023 owner review, its dimensions suited the author’s 16 cm wrist, though the prominent lugs and crowded numerals may not suit everyone. The review concerns the original NH34-powered watch—not the refreshed Sector II GMT now listed by Nodus.
What the original Sector GMT is—and what it is not
The watch in this review is the original Nodus Sector GMT, fitted with a Seiko/TMI NH34 movement. Nodus now lists a separate successor, the Sector II GMT, so current-generation specifications and prices should not be assumed to apply to the original. The original is a caller-style GMT: its 24-hour hand tracks a second time zone, while the local hour hand does not jump independently. That differs from a traveler- or flyer-style GMT, where the local hour hand can be moved in one-hour increments without stopping the watch. For frequent trips across time zones, that distinction can matter more than the presence of a GMT hand alone. How it wears
The original measures 38 mm across, 47 mm lug-to-lug, 12.25 mm thick, with 20 mm between the lugs. Those dimensions are relatively compact for a GMT watch, but the case’s prominent lugs give it more visual and wrist presence than the diameter alone suggests. Fratello author Vincent Deschamps says the proportions worked well on his 16 cm wrist; that is one owner’s experience, not a guarantee of fit for every wrist.

The 20 mm lug spacing gives owners a straightforward strap option: Deschamps liked the watch on a single-pass NATO or MN-style strap. Nodus’s current catalog includes 20 mm straps, but a listing’s stated width does not by itself confirm compatibility. Check the particular strap’s attachment and spring-bar or quick-release arrangement against the exact watch before ordering. Nodus’s strap catalog is a starting point for checking available styles.
Dial, case and everyday features
The dial uses a sector-style layout with prominent Arabic numerals and a separated 24-hour GMT display. Deschamps praised its legibility, luminous markings and framed date at six, while finding the numerals overwhelming. That is the main aesthetic trade-off: the dial presents a lot of information clearly, but it is not restrained or minimal.

The case combines brushed and polished surfaces. Fratello’s author also praised the grippy screw-down crown and the watch’s sapphire crystal, screw-down caseback and 100 m water resistance. Those are useful tool-watch features, though the water-resistance rating should not be read as a substitute for checking the crown and caseback are properly secured before exposure to water.
Accuracy and movement expectations
Nodus says it regulates its TMI NH-series movements to ±10 seconds per day. Deschamps observed his own Sector GMT running at +5 seconds per day during his review. The latter is an individual owner’s result, not a promised tolerance or population-wide test. Nodus’s technology page also lists 24 jewels and 41 hours of power reserve for the NH series; these are manufacturer-stated specifications, not independent measurements. The page says Nodus has observed a below-1% failure rate across thousands of NH-series watches used since 2017, which is a manufacturer-reported figure rather than an independently published reliability study: Nodus technology information.

What the owner review says about value
Fratello’s review stated a $450 asking price for the original Sector GMT in February 2023. Deschamps concluded that “if you are looking for a solid GMT for less than $500, you can’t do much better than the Nodus Sector GMT.” That is his judgment in the context of the price at the time, not a current price or a guarantee that the original is available at that amount.
For a comparison with the Seiko 5 Sports GMT, focus on the details that shape actual use: GMT hand behavior, dimensions and wrist fit, crystal, crown construction, water resistance, movement regulation, dial preference, warranty and current price. Deschamps favored the Nodus’s sapphire crystal, screw-down crown, regulated movement and more compact dimensions relative to the Seiko SSK001 he owns. That comparison reflects his watches and preferences, not a universal ranking.

Original Sector GMT versus Sector II GMT
Nodus’s current product page describes the Sector II GMT as having a “fast-set jumping-GMT hand.” That wording signals a different setting feature from the original watch’s NH34 caller arrangement as described in the 2023 review. Do not transfer the original’s movement behavior or dimensions to the newer model; consult the exact generation’s product details and manual before relying on a setting procedure.

Warranty and support
Nodus states that its international limited warranty lasts 24 months and covers material or workmanship defects under normal everyday use, subject to exclusions and conditions. The company says repairs are handled through its Los Angeles workshop; exclusions include misuse, ordinary wear, and unauthorized repair or modification.
