The redesigned Jack Mason Canton is a 39 mm, date-only automatic with a La Joux-Perret G100 movement, 68-hour power reserve and 150 m depth rating. Jack Mason changed the earlier model’s day-and-date layout and oversized numerals for a date at 6 and a textured diamond-grid dial. Here’s what changed, what the specifications mean, and how Fratello reviewer Jorg Weppelink said it wore.
What changed in the redesigned Canton?
In his September 16, 2024 hands-on review for Fratello, Jorg Weppelink describes the redesign as a fresh start rather than a minor update. The earlier Canton used a Miyota movement, put day and date at 3 o’clock, and had large 12 and 6 numerals. The redesigned watch replaces that arrangement with a date at 6, a cross-hatched dial and a Swiss-made La Joux-Perret G100 automatic movement.
Weppelink compares the new watch’s appearance with the Rolex Oyster Perpetual and Datejust. That is his visual comparison, not evidence that the Canton is equivalent in construction, finishing, performance or status. The more useful way to judge it is by its own dimensions, movement, materials and details.

The 39 mm diameter and 46 mm lug-to-lug give a more complete sense of case footprint than diameter alone; the 10.8 mm thickness is a relatively slim profile on paper. Neither measurement guarantees how it will fit a particular wrist, since wrist shape, bracelet sizing and personal preference matter.

How does the Canton wear?
Weppelink reports wearing it on his 19 cm (7.5-inch) wrist. He found the proportions comfortable, described the profile as slim and the watch as sturdy, and praised the case and bracelet finishing. He also liked the tool-free clasp’s usability. Those are his impressions from his own experience, not a fit guarantee or independent durability test.
He notes that the blue dial has a metallic look from its sunray finish, with applied luminous markers. The seconds hand’s red, white and blue tip and the Lone Star logo are Texas references. His review listed black, white, green and blue dials at publication in 2024; check the maker’s current selection for the available colors and exact configurations.

Movement, materials and practical details
The G100’s listed 68-hour reserve means a fully wound watch can continue running for nearly three days off the wrist, though actual running time depends on winding and use. The sapphire crystal and exhibition back let the wearer see the dial and movement while using sapphire on both sides. Jack Mason specifies a screw-down crown and a 150 m depth rating; that rating is a manufacturer specification, not a claim that every example has been independently tested by the reviewer.
The bracelet uses a tool-free clasp with nine adjustment levels, according to the official listing. The small increments are intended to make fit changes easier without a tool. The bracelet tapers from 20 mm at the lugs to 16 mm at the clasp, and the watch is listed as compatible with 20 mm straps. Because a nominal strap width does not ensure a particular end link or strap profile will fit, confirm the attachment dimensions before buying an aftermarket option.

Price and availability depend on variant and date
Fratello reported a US$1,499 launch price in its September 2024 review. Jack Mason’s official Champagne-dial listing currently gives a price of US$1,399 and, when checked for this article, estimated a November restock. The price and stock statement apply to that listing and its checked state; verify the selected dial and bracelet configuration on the maker’s page before ordering.

The redesigned 39 mm Canton discussed here is date-only. It is distinct from the Canton Day-Date and Canton Day-Date Resort reported by Hen & Mills on August 27, 2026. That coverage describes separate 41 mm models with day-and-date displays, Sellita SW240-1 automatic movements and 150 m water resistance. Similar family names do not make their specifications interchangeable.
