The Traska Commuter is designed to bridge the gap between a polished office watch and a durable everyday automatic. Its appeal is a restrained three-hand design paired with practical features, but the best choice depends on the exact size, date configuration and dial you want. Available specifications and prices below come from secondary coverage, not a current official Traska listing, so check the specific SKU before buying.
What is the Traska Commuter?
Watch reviewer Nina Scally describes the Commuter as Traska’s take on a “go anywhere, do anything” watch: a clean three-hand layout, applied baton markers and diamond-cut hands, with styling intended to work in both dressier and casual settings. The review also points to a slim Miyota 9000-series automatic movement and components such as a box-style sapphire crystal, solid bracelet links, drilled lugs and a clasp with tool-less micro-adjustment. These are review-era descriptions; confirm the feature set for the specific generation and SKU. Nina Scally’s Traska review
The collection is not a single fixed configuration. Scally’s review names 34 mm, 36 mm and 38 mm sizes, and examples including Slate Black, Adriatic Blue and stone dials such as Onyx and Malachite. Those examples do not establish that every size or dial is currently available.
Which Commuter size should you choose?
A comparison page’s September 19, 2026 specification check lists detailed dimensions for the 36 and 38. Use lug-to-lug length as well as diameter when comparing a Commuter with a watch you already wear: the distance between the lugs can be as important to how a case sits as its width. Measurements are secondary-source specifications, not a confirmed fit assessment for your wrist. Small Seconds’ 2026 comparison

| Reported model | Diameter | Lug-to-lug | Thickness | Lug width |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Commuter 36 | 36.5 mm | 44 mm | 10.5 mm | 20 mm |
| Commuter 38 | 38.5 mm | 46 mm | 10.5 mm | 20 mm |
The same comparison does not provide equivalent detailed dimensions for a 34 mm model. Before choosing by the collection’s size label alone, look for the precise dimensions on the listing for the generation you are considering.
Does the Commuter have a date?
According to Small Seconds’ comparison, the listed 36 and 38 configurations use either a Miyota 9039 without a date or a Miyota 9015 with a date. That means the movement and date display should be checked at the SKU level rather than inferred from the case size or collection name. The comparison does not establish which movement is paired with every current dial or size.

How scratch resistant is the Traska Commuter?
Scally’s review reports that Traska describes its treatment of 316L steel as a proprietary thermochemical hardening process. The review says the claimed hardness rises from about 200 HV to 1200 HV and characterizes the process as affecting the metal’s surface structure rather than adding a superficial coating. Small Seconds also reports an approximately 1200 HV figure for the 36 and 38. Neither source establishes an independent hardness measurement or a controlled scratch test, so the number should be understood as a reported claim, not a guarantee that the case or bracelet cannot be scratched or damaged. Is 100 m water resistance enough for everyday use?
The 100 m rating is reported for the 36 and 38 by Small Seconds; it does not, by itself, establish suitability for every water activity. Water resistance depends on the watch’s condition and the manufacturer’s guidance, neither of which is confirmed here for current SKUs. Check Traska’s instructions for the exact watch and have seals maintained appropriately rather than treating the rating as a promise of unrestricted use.
What does the Commuter cost?
Small Seconds’ 2026 comparison lists $690 for the Commuter 36 and $700 for the 38, with stone dials listed at $710. These are reported price snapshots, not verified current official prices. Scally’s March 11, 2026 review gives broader context of roughly $600–$700 for Traska watches but does not confirm a current official price for each Commuter SKU. Check the seller’s current listing for price, stock and terms before deciding whether the watch fits your budget. Small Seconds’ comparison · Scally’s review

Is the Traska Commuter worth considering?
The reported package is compelling for someone who wants an understated automatic with a bracelet, sapphire crystal and a hardened-steel claim, rather than a more overtly sporty or formal design. The trade-off is that buying decisions depend on details that vary by configuration: case dimensions, date display, dial, and confirmed current price. Compare the 36 and 38 dimensions with a watch already in your rotation, then verify the exact movement and features on the listing. No physical watch handling, wrist-fit assessment, timekeeping test or independent scratch test is established by the cited coverage, so those points should not be treated as hands-on findings.
