What the Black Bay S&G 79733N is
The 79733N is a two-tone variant of Tudor’s Heritage Black Bay family. Its official specification combines a steel case with polished and satin finishes, yellow-gold bezel and crown details, and a matt black aluminium bezel insert. The bezel is unidirectional and graduated for 60 minutes. Tudor describes the crown as screw-down and the crystal as domed sapphire. Tudor’s product document for reference 79733N is the primary source for these specifications.
Case size, dimensions and fit
Tudor specifies a 41 mm case diameter. For one specific configuration—the champagne-dial, bracelet M79733N-0004—a review by The 1916 Company Studios reports a thickness of 14.8 mm and a lug-to-lug measurement of 50.1 mm. Those latter dimensions are secondary-source measurements, not figures in Tudor’s product document, and should be treated as configuration-specific reference points.
Diameter, thickness and lug-to-lug length offer a useful starting point when judging whether the watch’s proportions suit you, but they do not establish how it will sit on a particular wrist. Wrist shape and personal preference matter, and no hands-on wear assessment is available here to support a comfort verdict.

Dial and configuration choices
Tudor lists two domed dial options—black and champagne—and three ways to wear the watch. The manufacturer’s document describes the bracelet and straps as follows:
- Steel and yellow-gold bracelet: a two-tone metal option.
- Aged leather strap: supplied with a folding clasp and safety catch.
- Fabric strap: supplied with a buckle.
Choose among them based on the look and fastening style you prefer; the available specifications do not support claims that one configuration is inherently more comfortable or more readable than another. The same document describes a steel bezel construction with a yellow-gold cap 0.3 mm thick. That detail comes from retailer Royal de Versailles Jewellers, rather than Tudor’s simpler bezel wording, so it is best regarded as a retailer-reported construction detail, not a manufacturer specification. Movement, functions and water-resistance rating
The watch uses Tudor Manufacture Calibre MT5612, an automatic mechanical movement with a bidirectional rotor. Tudor specifies COSC Swiss Chronometer certification, 28,800 beats per hour (4 Hz), 26 jewels and an approximate 70-hour power reserve. Functions include central hours, minutes and seconds, an instantaneous date with rapid adjustment, and stop-seconds. These are published specifications, not independent timekeeping test results.
Tudor states that the watch is “Waterproof to 200 m (660 ft).” That is the model’s published water-resistance rating; it does not establish the condition, maintenance or water resistance of any individual pre-owned example.

Price and buying checks
Prices in the available sources are historical or retailer-listed figures, not confirmed current official prices. Tudor’s older product document gives Swiss prices including VAT of CHF 4,750 for the bracelet configuration and CHF 3,600 for strap configurations. Monochrome-Watches also reported those historical amounts and noted Swiss VAT of 8% at the time. Monochrome-Watches’ report is historical context, not a current price guide.
Royal de Versailles Jewellers has listed M79733N-0003 at $6,960 CAD. A retailer listing alone does not verify current stock, market value or the seller’s Tudor-authorized status; check the live listing before relying on it.

Before buying, confirm the exact reference and configuration, the regional price and actual availability. Check dealer authorization and warranty terms with the seller. For a pre-owned watch, also establish its condition and service history; the model’s published water-resistance rating cannot confirm the state of a particular watch.

It does not establish how comfortable the watch feels, how its bezel operates in use, how its lume performs, its real-world accuracy, or how an individual example has held up over time. Those judgments require direct handling, wearing or testing, so they should not be inferred from the specification sheet.
