The most-worn watches of 2025 were not a single winning model. Creator roundups instead show a wide range of daily choices: Tudor dive watches, Omega tool watches, vintage Rolex, Cartier, Grand Seiko quartz, independent brands and sentimental one-offs. The common thread was repeated wear—comfort, versatility, personal history and strap flexibility—rather than price, rarity or a formal ranking.
Teddy Baldassarre’s December 13, 2025 roundup collected self-reports from 35 watch creators. Hodinkee’s December 31 feature presented 40 watches from staff and friends. Those packages are useful snapshots of enthusiast habits, not a statistically representative survey of the watch market.
What watch did creators wear most in 2025?
The clearest answer is “the watch each creator kept reaching for.” Hodinkee described its exercise as finding the watch that “kept showing up”—the piece worn instinctively until it became part of everyday life. Worn & Wound made a similar point on January 1, 2026: identifying what you gravitated toward repeatedly is meaningful.
That definition explains why the lists do not converge on one reference. A creator’s most-worn watch might be a modern dive watch, a vintage chronograph, a quartz Grand Seiko or a custom-dial project. Wrist time reflects real routines and attachment, not an objective league table.

Why these watches earned wrist time
Comfort and versatility beat novelty
Daily wear favors a watch that works with a creator’s normal clothes, schedule and wrist. Compact divers such as the Black Bay 58 Bronze, familiar tool watches such as the Railmaster and understated pilots such as the Mark XV can move through office hours, travel and weekends without demanding a special occasion. The Cartier Santos Galbée XL demonstrates the same principle from a dressier direction: a recognizable shape can still be practical when it suits both formal and casual settings.
Personal meaning can outweigh specifications
WatchGecko contributors cited inheritance, milestones, travel, comfort and custom work alongside technical details. A custom Pelagos FXD dial is not interchangeable with a stock specification in the owner’s story. Likewise, a watch connected to a life event can receive more wear than a technically superior but emotionally neutral alternative.

Vintage and modern watches serve different kinds of attachment
The 2025 examples span vintage references such as the Submariner 5513, GMT-Master II 16713, Oyster Precision 6482 and Gallet chronograph, alongside current or recent models such as the Pelagos FXD, Railmaster METAS and Ming 37.11 Odyssey. Vintage pieces offer patina, historical context and the feeling of wearing something with an established biography. Modern watches generally offer newer materials, contemporary sizing and easier access to current service or replacement parts, although availability varies by model.
Quartz can be a deliberate daily choice
Grand Seiko SBGX341 and SBGX063 appeared in Fratello’s selections, showing that quartz ownership is not excluded from enthusiast collections. A quartz watch can remove winding and power-reserve decisions from a busy routine. Mechanical watches, by contrast, make winding, setting and the movement itself part of the daily ritual. Neither experience is inherently more serious; the most-worn choice is the one whose trade-offs fit its owner.

Straps change how often a watch gets worn
WatchGecko’s accounts mention NATO straps, quick-release straps, leather straps and multiple strap options. Strap flexibility can turn one watch into several practical configurations: a NATO strap for travel or outdoor use, leather for a more formal setting and quick-release options when changing between them matters. For a small collection, buying the right replacement watch strap may do more for actual wrist time than adding another watch.
What the quantified example really tells us
Chris Antzoulis reported that his Tudor Black Bay 58 Bronze was “the only watch in my collection clocking over 30 full days on wrist this year.” The figure was his 2025 total, recorded with an app; it is not an average for creators, Tudor owners or the Black Bay 58 line. It does, however, illustrate the gap between owning a watch and repeatedly choosing it.
How to interpret the creator roundups
They are personal wrist-time retrospectives
Teddy Baldassarre’s 35-creator feature and Hodinkee’s 40-watch package collect selected contributors’ recollections. They reveal what those people wore, valued and remembered. They do not establish sales leadership, investment performance, durability rankings or a universal best everyday watch.
Rank #4
- STYLE: A classic, easy-to-read timepiece for everyday wear; 42mm case; band length 9.5 inches
- MATERIAL: Black faux leather strap with genuine leather backing for comfortable wear; buckle closure; mineral crystal lens
- DETAILS: Matte black dial with silver tone luminous hands and easy to read white Arabic numerals; printed outer minute track; date calendar window at 3 o'clock
- CARE: Water resistant to 100 Feet (30m); watches should be treated like jewelry; to best protect your watch, be sure to be conscious when spraying perfume, hair spray, etc.; a jewelry polishing cloth can be used to polish the watch and clean it of fingerprints
They cover a deliberately broad field
Fratello’s selections include Omega, Rolex, Cartier, Grand Seiko, IWC, Breitling, Ming and Gallet, as well as smaller independent names. The spread includes quartz and mechanical movements, vintage and modern watches, affordable choices and high-end pieces. That breadth is evidence of varied routines, not inconsistency in the lists.
Availability is part of the practical decision
Several frequently mentioned references are discontinued or vintage, including the Omega Seamaster Professional 300M 2254.50, Rolex 16713 and 5513, IWC Mark XV and many older chronographs. A reader can admire the reason a creator wore one without assuming an identical example is currently in production or readily obtainable. Check a brand or authorized retailer for current production status and have vintage condition, service history and authenticity assessed before purchase.
Which watch should you wear every day?
- Start with your routine. Decide whether your week involves travel, physical work, formal clothing, frequent water exposure or mostly desk time.
- Choose the ownership experience. Select quartz if set-and-forget convenience matters most; select mechanical if winding and movement interaction are part of the pleasure.
- Prioritize comfort. Case thickness, lug shape, bracelet adjustment and total weight often determine whether a watch stays on the wrist after the novelty fades.
- Check versatility. Consider whether the dial, water resistance and strap options work across your normal settings.
- Add personal meaning. An inherited, custom, travel-linked or milestone watch may win your wrist more often than a more technically impressive substitute.
- Verify access and upkeep. For discontinued or vintage models, investigate service support, parts, condition and authenticity before treating a creator’s choice as a shopping recommendation.
What “most worn” does—and does not—mean
- It does mean: a creator repeatedly selected the watch during 2025 and considered that pattern worth reporting.
- It may indicate: comfort, versatility, emotional attachment, travel usefulness, strap adaptability or a satisfying ownership ritual.
- It does not prove: that the watch is the best value, most accurate, most durable, easiest to buy or right for every wrist.
The useful lesson from the 2025 lists is behavioral: watches become favorites by fitting real lives. The winning formula may be a modern Tudor diver, a quartz Grand Seiko, a vintage Rolex, a custom project or an independent manual-wind piece. Repeated wear—not novelty or status—is the evidence that a watch has earned its place.
