The watch most likely shown in this hands-on review is TAG Heuer’s 43 mm Aquaracer Professional 300 Date, reference WBP201B.BA0632. It combines a blue sunray-brushed dial, ceramic timing bezel, steel bracelet and Calibre 5 automatic movement. TAG Heuer’s US product page now marks that reference discontinued, so its displayed $4,100 price should be treated as a historical manufacturer-page figure rather than a confirmed current offer.
First, identify the exact Aquaracer
The title alone does not establish a reference. The likely match is WBP201B.BA0632, the 43 mm bracelet model from the 2021-generation Aquaracer Professional 300 Date. Check the caseback, dial, bracelet and supplied photographs before applying these specifications to a particular sample.
A closely related 43 mm blue model, WBP201B.FT6198, uses a rubber strap. It is a separate reference, and strap interchangeability should not be assumed without confirmation.

Dial, bezel and wrist presence
Blue sunray dial
The blue sunray-brushed dial is the defining visual feature. Its surface changes character with the light, giving the otherwise tool-oriented design a dressier, more reflective quality than a flat blue dial. The date display is part of the three-hand Calibre 5 layout rather than a separate complication module.
12-sided ceramic bezel
The independent 2021 review describes its sample as having a 12-sided unidirectional bezel with a ceramic insert. TAG Heuer specifies the ceramic material and 60-minute scale. Those details support a dive-watch design assessment, but they do not prove that the reviewed individual watch underwent a documented pressure test.

- Black dial with date display
- Brushed stainless steel bracelet

43 mm case and bracelet
A 43 mm case gives the WBP201B a substantial presence. It is a better fit for readers who want a prominent sports watch than for those seeking compact vintage proportions. Wrist comfort will depend on lug reach, bracelet adjustment and wrist circumference; the available specifications do not establish a universal fit.
Movement and everyday ownership
Calibre 5 is an automatic movement with a stated 38-hour power reserve and 4 Hz operating frequency. If the watch stops after more than roughly two days off the wrist, it will need winding and resetting before wear. No independent accuracy figure or owner-satisfaction statistic is established here, so performance should not be inferred from the reserve or frequency alone.

Water resistance: what 300 m means
TAG Heuer rates the reference to 300 m and specifies a unidirectional bezel for elapsed-time indication. That is a strong published rating for a recreational dive-watch design. It remains a manufacturer rating: use, servicing, crown condition and gasket age affect real-world protection, and the available review evidence does not document a dive or pressure test of the individual sample.
43 mm WBP201B versus the later 42 mm Aquaracer
The newer 42 mm blue Aquaracer is a different generation and should not be described with the WBP201B’s movement or reserve.
Rank #4
| Model generation | Case | Movement and certification | Power reserve | Dial treatment |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| WBP201B.BA0632 | 43 mm | Calibre 5 automatic; certification not stated | 38 hours | Blue sunray-brushed |
| Later blue Aquaracer | 42 mm | TH31-00 automatic, COSC-certified | 80 hours | Blue wavy pattern |
The 42 mm model’s 80-hour reserve and COSC certification are not upgrades that can be attributed to the 43 mm WBP201B. They belong to a separate specification set.

TAG Heuer’s US page displays $4,100 for WBP201B.BA0632 and labels the reference discontinued. Because the page itself is not a live-stock guarantee and prices and inventory change, treat that amount as a displayed manufacturer-page figure, not a current market quotation. Regional availability may differ, and the evidence here does not establish a current authorized-retailer or resale listing.
Who should consider it?
- Consider it if: you want a large, conventional Swiss automatic dive watch with a blue reflective dial, ceramic timing bezel, steel bracelet and a published 300 m rating.
- Check carefully if: you need a compact case, a reserve longer than 38 hours, independently documented accuracy or confirmed new-stock availability.
- Verify before buying: the exact reference, bracelet or rubber-strap configuration, seller authenticity protections, service history and whether the watch is new, pre-owned or old stock.
Verdict
As identified, the 43 mm WBP201B.BA0632 is a legible, substantial Aquaracer with an attractive blue sunray dial and credible dive-watch hardware on paper. Its Calibre 5 and 38-hour reserve are more modest than the later 42 mm TH31-00/COSC model’s 80-hour specification, while the discontinued status makes sourcing more important than the old list price. Confirm the reference first; then judge whether the 43 mm size and shorter reserve suit your wrist and ownership expectations.
