Which Cartier Santos Large is this?
This guide covers the standard-dial, stainless-steel Santos de Cartier Large, reference WSSA0009, introduced in 2018. It is not the current WSSA0018, and its specifications or prices should not be inferred from that newer reference. The 2018 collection became available in April, according to Hodinkee’s 2018 launch coverage.

The movement figures and date display are from Hodinkee’s 2018 report. They describe the WSSA0009-era watch rather than specifications for a later reference.
What did the Santos Large cost in 2018?
SJX Watches reported a U.S. launch price of US$6,850 in July 2018 for the steel Large. That is a historical launch price, not a current Cartier retail price, a resale valuation or a like-for-like measure of price changes over time.

What is WSSA0009 worth now?

These figures are not directly comparable: they come from different dates and markets, and may reflect different tax treatment. They do not establish that the watch has appreciated or depreciated. For an individual example, condition, completeness, location and timing all affect what a buyer may pay.
How to assess a WSSA0009 before buying
The case dimensions are useful starting points, but no wrist-fit test or wrist measurements are established here. Consider the full 47.5 mm case length as well as the 39.8 mm width, and compare how the watch sits on your wrist rather than choosing by width alone.

Bracelet adjustment and QuickSwitch straps
The 2018 launch coverage describes an adjustable bracelet and interchangeable strap setup. QuickSwitch is proprietary: SJX’s 2018 review says replacement straps require Cartier’s built-in lug ends.
