The Amazfit Bip 5 Unity launched in India in May 2024 at ₹6,999. The official Amazfit India listing checked on August 16, 2026 showed ₹5,499 against ₹7,999, so that lower figure is a current promotional/listing price rather than the launch price. It combines a 1.91-inch TFT display, a stainless-steel middle frame, BioTracker PPG health sensing and claimed battery life of up to 11 days. Its biggest compromises are the lack of built-in GPS, a non-AMOLED screen and Amazfit’s warning that it is not suitable for swimming.
India price and availability
Global announcement material is dated May 2, 2024, while Indian launch reports appeared around May 20, 2024. India launch coverage put the price at ₹6,999, with sales through Amazon and Amazfit’s India website. India Today reported the launch price, and Gadgets 360 reported launch availability.
On August 16, 2026, the official India product page displayed ₹5,499, reduced from a crossed-out ₹7,999. Treat this as a price signal that can change with promotions, stock and possible clearance of an older 2024 model. The listed colors are Grey, Charcoal and Pink; verify color, delivery, warranty and stock before ordering.
Design and display
The Unity uses a stainless-steel middle frame, not a specification-confirmed fully metal case. It measures 45.8 × 37.08 × 10 mm, excluding the sensor base, and weighs 24 g without its strap. A single physical button controls the watch alongside the touchscreen.

The supplied strap is a 22 mm antibacterial liquid-silicone band with quick-release pins and a listed wrist range of 155–210 mm. The metal frame gives the watch a more premium appearance than a basic plastic-only design without establishing that every part of the body is stainless steel.

The large panel leaves room for readable notifications, metrics and watch-face complications. It is a TFT/LCD display rather than AMOLED, so buyers should not expect AMOLED-style black levels or identical contrast and power characteristics. Amazfit lists more than 100 watch faces, including over 30 editable designs, plus custom-photo faces.
Health tracking and what the sensor can—and cannot—tell you
A BioTracker PPG biometric sensor provides optical heart-rate and blood-oxygen (SpO₂) measurements. The software also offers stress tracking, sleep stages including REM, daytime naps, sleep score, sleep breathing-quality tracking, PAI, menstrual-cycle tracking and configurable high/low heart-rate, low-SpO₂ and high-stress alerts. Breathing-exercise prompts are included.
Continuous heart-rate, SpO₂ and stress monitoring must be enabled on the watch or in the Zepp app, depending on the feature. Amazfit says movement, fit, environmental conditions and individual physical characteristics can affect measurement speed and accuracy. For an SpO₂ reading, it recommends wearing the watch firmly about one finger-width above the wrist, keeping the arm still and avoiding movement during the test.

These are wellness and fitness functions, not medical diagnoses. The watch does not establish ECG, blood-pressure or other clinical monitoring, and an unusual reading should be checked with a qualified medical professional rather than used as a diagnosis.
Sports tracking and everyday activity
Amazfit advertises more than 120 sports modes; the detailed India specification lists 124. The watch tracks steps, distance and calories, and includes running tools such as a virtual pacer and PeakBeats workout-status functions.
Automatic workout recognition
The detailed page says seven sports movements can be recognized automatically. Recognition depends on a person’s posture, proficiency, workout duration and activity changes, and similar movements can trigger a false start—for example, some travel or driving motions. Start an activity manually when accurate session timing matters.
GPS: the most important limitation
The Bip 5 Unity has no built-in GPS. Outdoor route and distance positioning require a connected smartphone with location permission enabled. That makes it practical for walking, running or cycling when your phone is with you, but unsuitable for runners, cyclists and hikers who want to leave the phone at home.

The regular Amazfit Bip 5 is the more relevant alternative if independent positioning is essential: its official India specification lists four satellite-positioning systems. The Unity instead trades that independence for its metal middle frame and newer Zepp OS 3.0.
Battery and charging

- Charging: magnetic cable, approximately two hours in Amazfit’s stated theoretical duration
These are manufacturer estimates, not a guaranteed runtime. Amazfit’s typical-use scenario includes all-day wear, heart-rate checks every 10 minutes, sleep monitoring, 150 notifications daily, three call notifications, five SpO₂ tests daily, five minutes of bright-screen use per day and three 30-minute workouts each week. Its heavy-use scenario changes heart-rate checks to one-minute intervals, adds stress and more sleep-breathing monitoring, increases bright-screen use to 15 minutes daily and keeps the same workout schedule. Frequent screen use, continuous sensors, workouts, notifications and Bluetooth conditions can shorten endurance.
Water resistance: IP68 is not a swimming rating
The Unity is rated IP68 under IEC 60529. Amazfit describes it as suitable for splashes or snow and cites resistance up to 1.5 metres in its qualification. The same official page explicitly says it is not suitable for swimming. Remove it for hot showers and saunas because heat and steam can affect the seal. “Water-resistant” is the accurate description; it is not a swimming watch or a fully waterproof device.
Zepp OS and smart features
Zepp OS 3.0 powers the watch. Features include:
- Phone, SMS and app notifications

- Find-my-phone, weather, alarms, stopwatch and timers
- Sedentary reminders, to-do items and event reminders
- More than 70 downloadable mini apps and games
- Customizable and photo-based watch faces
- Bluetooth phone-camera control on iOS devices
- Quick replies where the phone platform and software support them
Mini-app availability can vary by country and smartphone. The watch requires the Zepp companion app for pairing, synchronization, health settings, watch faces and permissions. Check the current Zepp requirements for your phone before purchase; do not automatically apply the Android 7.0/iOS 14.0 figures shown on the separate Bip 5 page to the Unity.

The Unity is the better fit when appearance, lighter weight and newer software matter and you normally carry a phone. The regular Bip 5 deserves the price difference when phone-free GPS tracking is the deciding feature. Neither model is an AMOLED or swimming-focused watch.
Who should buy the Bip 5 Unity?
Good match
- Everyday users who keep a smartphone nearby
- Buyers wanting a large, readable screen and infrequent charging
- People interested in basic heart-rate, SpO₂, sleep and activity trends
- Users who prefer a metal-framed look at a relatively low price
- Phone-carrying walkers, runners and cyclists
Look elsewhere if you need
- Independent GPS for phone-free routes
- Swimming or dependable pool tracking
- An AMOLED panel
- Clinically reliable measurements or diagnosis
- A highly independent smartwatch experience with minimal phone and app dependence
Verdict
At the reported ₹6,999 launch price, the Bip 5 Unity was positioned as a large-screen affordable wearable. At the lower ₹5,499 official listing observed in August 2026, it can be attractive for notification-heavy daily use, basic fitness tracking and health trends—provided the promotion and stock remain available. Its stainless-steel middle frame and 11-day claimed typical endurance are useful advantages, but they do not offset the absence of built-in GPS for serious outdoor athletes, the TFT panel for AMOLED shoppers or the explicit no-swimming limitation.
