The standard GTR 3 delivers the same core health, GPS and sports platform with substantially longer advertised battery life. Choose the Pro only if you will use those smart extras; otherwise, the GTR 3 is the better-value endurance watch.

Design and display
Both are round aluminum watches, weigh 32 g without a strap and use 22 mm straps. The Pro is fractionally larger but its 1.45-inch, 480 × 480 panel is the visible upgrade. The GTR 3 uses a 1.39-inch, 454 × 454 AMOLED display. The Pro’s extra pixels and approximately 331 ppi density make text, workout screens and detailed watch faces easier to read. The smaller GTR 3 screen may suit anyone who prefers a less dominant watch and longer endurance.
Health, fitness and GPS: mostly the same
Both watches use Amazfit’s BioTracker 3.0 optical platform for heart-rate tracking, blood-oxygen (SpO₂) readings, stress, sleep, breathing-related sleep metrics, activity and PAI. They also provide built-in GPS with GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BDS and QZSS support, plus a broad selection of workout profiles. Amazfit advertised more than 150 sports modes for the Pro; the exact list can vary by software or region.
#1 Best Overall
- DUAL-BAND GPS & OFFLINE MAPS: Navigate confidently with dual-band positioning and six satellite systems. Use offline maps, turn-by-turn navigation, and automatic rerouting to stay on track without your phone.
- 21-DAY BATTERY: Get up to 21 days of battery life on a single charge, and never worry about forgetting your charger on trips. Enjoy long battery life performance from work, to workouts, to weekend trips.
- AMOLED SCREEN & BUILT-IN FLASHLIGHT: A large 1.5" AMOLED screen protected by sapphire glass is easy to read in bright daylight or night. Stay safe and visible in low-light conditions with the built-in white or tactical red flashlight.
- NO SUBSCRIPTION APP: Health, recovery, and workout data is free to access in the included Zepp App. Track calories and protein goals.
- APP CONNECTIONS & HYROX TRAINING: Use fitness apps like Strava, TrainingPeaks, Intervals.ICU to share workouts. Improve HYROX training with built-in HYROX training plans and Virtual Pace simulations.
These are wellness estimates, not medical diagnoses. Optical readings vary with fit, movement and skin contact, while sleep and stress scores are algorithmic estimates. Use clinical equipment and professional advice for medical concerns. Satellite-system support alone does not prove superior real-world GPS accuracy.
Both watches are rated 5 ATM. That is suitable for ordinary surface swimming and daily splashes, not a blanket recommendation for diving, high-pressure jets, hot tubs or saunas.
The Pro’s four meaningful extras
Bluetooth calling
The Pro has a microphone and speaker for calls through a paired phone. It is not a cellular watch: the phone must remain nearby, Bluetooth calling permissions must be enabled and behavior can vary by phone and region. The GTR 3 does not provide this wrist-call function in the cited comparison coverage.
Local music storage
The Pro has about 2.3 GB of storage. Amazfit estimated up to roughly 470 songs, but file size and format determine the real capacity. Tracks are generally transferred from a phone through Zepp and played to Bluetooth headphones. Reviews describe MP3/WAV-style local playback, not unrestricted Spotify, Apple Music or podcast streaming. If your library is entirely subscription-based, this feature may add little value.

- LIGHTWEIGHT TITANIUM: Ultra light titanium is hypoallergenic for sensitive skin, resists saltwater corrosion better than steel, and a lighter more stable fit improves heart rate measurement.
Wi‑Fi
The Pro specification lists 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi; the standard model has no comparable user-facing Wi‑Fi feature reported in contemporary coverage. Wi‑Fi does not provide cellular independence, and its practical usefulness depends on software and region.
A larger screen
The display is the Pro’s everyday hardware benefit even when you never make calls or transfer music. It offers larger touch targets and more room for notifications and workout data.
Battery life: endurance versus convenience
Amazfit advertises up to 21 days for the GTR 3 and up to 12 days for the Pro in its respective typical-use scenarios. Battery-saver claims are 35 and 30 days; heavy-use claims are about 10 and 6 days. Both advertise roughly 35 hours of continuous GPS use. These figures are manufacturer scenarios, not guarantees.
Always-on display, frequent GPS, automatic heart-rate or SpO₂ checks, sleep-breathing monitoring, calls, music, notifications and animated faces can reduce runtime sharply. One review measured roughly four days on the Pro with always-on display and several automatic health features enabled, while lighter use lasted more than a week. Treat the maximum numbers as a comparison reference.

- 24/7 HEALTH MONITORING: The Amazfit Bip 6 smartwatch provides precise, real-time monitoring of heart rate, sleep, blood-oxygen and stress, empowering you with actionable insights to optimize your health and fitness.
Software, notifications and phone dependence
Both watches require the Zepp app for pairing, settings, watch faces, health-data review, firmware delivery and notifications; the Pro also uses it for music transfer. The Pro manual lists Android 7.0+ and iOS 12.0+ for its cited edition, but check the requirements for the exact regional model.
Zepp OS includes built-in apps and an app store, yet its third-party ecosystem is much smaller than Wear OS or watchOS. Contemporary reviews describe notifications as largely read-only, with limited message interaction. Neither watch should be bought expecting a full keyboard, mobile payments, cellular service or modern streaming apps.
If notifications fail
- Confirm the watch is connected in Zepp.
- Open the watch profile and enable the desired apps under notification or app-alert settings.
- Grant notification access on Android or notification permission on iOS.
- Allow Zepp to run in the background and remove aggressive battery optimization.
- Check Do Not Disturb and sleep modes.
- Synchronize data and restart before attempting a complete re-pair.
The official notification setup is documented in the GTR 3 Pro manual. Reviews reported inconsistent notification behavior, so delivery is not guaranteed.
Which watch should you buy?
Choose the GTR 3 when
- Battery life is the priority.
- You need health tracking, workouts, GPS, alarms and notifications rather than wrist calls.
- You carry a phone and do not need stored music.
- The GTR 3 is meaningfully cheaper and comes with a valid warranty.
Choose the GTR 3 Pro when
- You will use Bluetooth calls.
- You want local files for phone-free workouts.
- The larger display matters.
- Wi‑Fi is useful for your specific workflow and the price premium is small.
Do not choose either primarily for
- Full text replies, mobile payments or cellular calling.
- Spotify, Apple Music or other normal streaming services on the watch.
- A large third-party app ecosystem.
- Medical-grade measurements.
Are they still sensible purchases in 2026?
These are October 2021-generation watches. Current stock, seller warranty, regional compatibility, firmware availability and retail prices were not established by the historical launch material. Check those details immediately before buying, and verify that the seller supplies the correct regional model, charger and strap.

- 70+ Downloadable Mini Apps: Access a wide range of apps and games through Zepp OS 3.0, with easy installation and removal.
- Track Your Fitness: Over 120 sports modes to track steps, distance, calories, and more—keep moving, stay motivated.
- Reliable Health Monitoring: Monitor heart rate, blood oxygen levels, stress, and sleep, plus get reminders to stay active throughout the day. You can even track menstrual and fertile periods.
At a sufficiently low price, the GTR 3 remains a sensible long-battery fitness watch, while the Pro makes sense for buyers specifically seeking calls, local music or the larger screen. If you need rich messaging, payments, cellular service or current streaming support, compare newer Apple Watch, Galaxy Watch/Wear OS, Garmin or Amazfit models instead of assuming the “Pro” label makes this a modern flagship smartwatch.
