The Louis Moinet Space Revolution is a kinetic mechanical wristwatch built around two spacecraft and two satellite-shaped tourbillon cages. They move on separate levels beneath a sapphire dome, turning a timekeeper into the brand’s idea of “Cosmic Art.”
What is the Louis Moinet Space Revolution?
Louis Moinet introduced Space Revolution on 26 August 2020 as a “flying satellite double tourbillon.” Two spacecraft face each other under the sapphire dome while their surrounding tourbillon cages rotate in opposite directions. The result is a continuously changing astronomical scene rather than a static dial.
It remains a functional watch: the product description specifies hours and minutes, but the time display is embedded in a much larger mechanical performance. Louis Moinet presents the piece through two brand themes, Mechanical Wonders and Cosmic Art.
How the flying-satellite double tourbillon works
Two spacecraft, two speeds
The upper spacecraft completes one clockwise rotation every five minutes. The lower spacecraft turns counter-clockwise once every ten minutes. Because those cycles differ, the two vessels repeatedly change their relative positions instead of moving as a synchronized pair.

- REVOLUTIONARY MAGNETIC ORBIT Experience the future of timekeeping with this unique magnetic watch. Dual steel ball bearings glide along dedicated tracks—the inner ball marks the hour and the outer ball tracks the minute. It’s a bold no-hand analog watch design that turns every glance at your wrist into a mesmerizing, high-tech experience.
- 360° MANUAL ROTATING PLANET At the heart of this unique magnetic watch lies a rotating planet that can be manually spun 360 degrees. This galaxy series design mimics the orbital motion of celestial bodies, transforming a standard quartz wristwatch into a tactile piece of astronomical art.
- VERSATILE COMFORT & DAILY RESILIENCE Equipped with a premium silicone band, this watch is built for maximum comfort and everyday durability. The skin-friendly strap provides a seamless fit (165mm-215mm), while the 3ATM waterproof rating ensures reliability against rain and splashes. Louis Moinet’s 2020 launch video and news material describe 18 spacecraft encounters per hour. That figure belongs to the brand’s launch explanation of the motion, not to an independently measured timing test.
Opposed tourbillon cages
The two tourbillon cages sit on separate levels and rotate in opposite directions. Their satellite-like presentation makes the regulating organs part of the visual narrative: the viewer sees both technical mechanisms and the orbital choreography around them.
Why it is more than a decorative animation
The spacecraft are driven by the mechanical architecture rather than by an electronic screen or a simple rotating disc. This is why Louis Moinet describes Space Revolution as a double tourbillon and as a work of mechanical art at the same time.
Construction, dimensions and development
Louis Moinet’s product page for reference LM-104.50.52 states that the mechanism took more than three years of research and development. The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève entry records more than 470 components and six ceramic ball bearings.

Which Space Revolution watches were made?
The launch material separates the numbered limited edition from several unique timepieces. It does not provide one consolidated production total for every reference.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is Space Revolution a watch or wearable art?
It is both. The watch supplies a conventional time function, while its primary visual identity comes from the moving spacecraft, opposed tourbillons and astronomical setting. In the 2021 interview, Jean-Marie Schaller links the collection to Louis Moinet’s astronomical roots and says, “Space Revolution is art. The purpose of art is to bring of a new vision of the world.”

Those references place Space Revolution in the independent-watch tradition of using unusual materials and extreme mechanics to create an emotional object, rather than treating complications solely as instruments of measurement.
What does the Louis Moinet Space Revolution cost?
No authoritative current public price is established in the available Louis Moinet, GPHG or interview material. The launch documentation identifies the references and edition structure but does not publish a current selling price. A price quoted elsewhere should therefore be treated as historical or unverified unless the brand or an authorized seller confirms it.
Live stock, an authorized affiliate listing and a current marketplace offer were likewise not verified as of 2 October 2026. Prospective buyers need to confirm availability and a written quotation directly with Louis Moinet or an authorized specialist before relying on any commerce link.
A related digital-art project
Louis Moinet’s Discover page records a collaboration with 3D creator Tafi for 1,000 Space Revolution-themed NFTs intended for the Exclusible marketplace. That is a dated brand statement about a digital-art project, not evidence that the NFTs remain available or transferable today.
