The Anoma A1 is a sculptural automatic watch collection offered in distinct Core, Optical and Prehistoric executions. The official listings specify an automatic Sellita SW100 movement, sapphire crystal and 5 ATM water resistance, while the design, edition size, price and availability depend on the model. The figures below reflect brand and watch-publication listings checked in 2026; prices, stock and delivery schedules can change.
What is the Anoma A1?
Anoma Watches’ A1 is a rounded-triangular automatic wristwatch collection designed to read as an object as much as a timepiece. The brand says its form draws on a 1950s free-form table by Charlotte Perriand, river stones and the work of Constantin Brancusi. Those are Anoma’s stated design references, not independent assessments.
The collection’s versions share the distinctive case shape but use different dial and case treatments. Anoma founder and creative director Matteo Violet-Vianello described the idea behind the brand to The New York Times on September 9, 2026: “I started Anoma because I thought about what would happen if you treated the watch less as a watch and more as a sculpture.”
How do the A1 variants differ?
| Variant | Design treatment | Price and availability reported in 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| A1 Core | Restrained Abyss and Stone finishes. | Anoma listed £2,640 GBP. The brand described a first run of 300 pieces, scheduled for delivery in June 2026. Check the official listing for current stock and timing. |
| A1 Optical | Engraved geometric dial inspired by Optical Art. | Anoma listed £2,640 GBP and marked it sold out when checked. Confirm current availability with the brand. |
| A1 Prehistoric | Hand-worked, chiselled treatment on the case and dial. | Anoma listed £3,480 GBP and marked it sold out when checked, while SJX Watches reported £2,900 excluding taxes and October 2026 delivery. The figures differ; they should not be treated as the same tax basis or a single current price. Anoma described a 100-piece 2026 edition. |
Prices, stock status and delivery schedules are time-sensitive. The Prehistoric figures in particular show why it is important to check the exact variant and seller’s terms rather than assume that one quoted price applies everywhere.

What are the A1’s specifications?
The official Optical listing gives the clearest full set of dimensions and construction details. Anoma’s Core and Prehistoric pages also describe the principal case and movement characteristics; check the exact product page for variant-specific details.
- Movement: automatic Swiss Sellita SW100.
- Case size: 39 mm by 39 mm; the Optical listing gives a thickness of 9.45 mm.
- Case material: 316L stainless steel.
- Crystal: sapphire with anti-reflective coating, as specified on the Optical listing.
- Water resistance: 5 ATM, also expressed by the brand as 50 metres or 164 feet.
- Strap: the Optical is listed with a grained Italian leather strap on regular 18 mm spring bars.
- Warranty: two years, according to the Optical listing.
These are manufacturer specifications, not results from independent testing. A 5 ATM rating is not evidence that an individual watch has been independently tested under real-world conditions.

How does the A1 fit on the wrist?
Although the case measures 39 mm by 39 mm, Anoma says its unusual shape wears closer to a 37 mm watch. The brand also says the inward-curving underside makes it wear thinner. Treat these as the maker’s fit descriptions: wrist shape and personal preference affect how a watch feels, and the stated dimensions remain the most concrete point of comparison.
What strap fits the Anoma A1?
The A1 Optical listing specifies regular 18 mm spring bars and a changeable strap, so an 18 mm replacement strap is the documented starting point for that version. The cited specifications do not establish fit for every A1 variant or every aftermarket strap. Before buying, verify the lug or attachment details for your exact model and confirm that the replacement uses compatible spring bars.
