Apple’s release was officially the 2024 Pride Collection, not “Rainbow Series.” Announced on May 6, 2024, it combined one physical accessory—the Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop—with the Pride Radiance Apple Watch face and animated Pride wallpapers for iPhone and iPad. The band went on sale May 22 in the United States and Canada for $99, with retail availability in other regions beginning May 23.
Apple’s announcement is the authoritative source for the launch specifications and dates.
What Apple actually launched
“Rainbow Series” is an informal description rather than Apple’s product name. The 2024 collection contained three related elements, but only one was new physical hardware.
Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop
The band uses a fluorescent, multicolor design inspired by multiple Pride flags. Its lug is laser-etched with “PRIDE 2024.” Apple offered 41mm and 45mm sizes, compatible with Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Series 4 or later. The United States launch price was $99.

Because this is a closed-loop Solo Loop, sizing matters more than it does with a band that has a buckle. Apple’s launch specification does not establish current resale pricing or stock.
Pride Radiance watch face
Pride Radiance is a software watch face, separate from the band. Users select a color spectrum; colored beams stack and trace the numerals. The beams respond to wrist movement through the watch’s gyroscope, creating an effect that changes as the watch moves. Apple’s face guide lists Color as the customization option.

Dynamic iPhone and iPad wallpapers
The matching wallpapers are for iPhone and iPad, not an Apple Watch wallpaper format. Their dark background carries colored beams that form the word “Pride.” Apple described the beams as moving when the device is unlocked; this does not mean a continuously playing video wallpaper.

Watch face and wallpapers
Digital availability is governed by the watchOS, iOS or iPadOS version and by Apple’s face catalog. A watch that physically accepts the band is not automatically guaranteed to show every current watch face. The watch face belongs in the Apple Watch Face Gallery; the artwork for iPhone and iPad belongs in the device wallpaper system.
How to add Pride Radiance
Apple’s current general procedure is:
- Open the Apple Watch app on the paired iPhone.
- Tap Face Gallery.
- Browse or search for Pride Radiance.
- Select the face and choose its color customization.
- Set any available complications, then tap Add to Watch.
Apple identifies the Face Gallery as the easiest place to browse and customize faces. Labels and catalog placement can vary with watchOS version and region. Apple’s 2024 announcement also said the face could be downloaded through the Apple Watch app, Apple Store app or Apple’s website. The general path is documented in Apple’s guide to changing watch faces.

Finding the iPhone and iPad wallpapers
Install the relevant iOS or iPadOS update, then look in the device’s wallpaper gallery rather than the Apple Watch Face Gallery. Choose the Pride artwork and customize its color spectrum where that option is offered. The beams’ unlock-triggered movement is part of the wallpaper behavior described by Apple.

If Pride Radiance or the wallpaper is missing
- Update the Apple Watch and its paired iPhone to compatible software; update an iPad separately when using the wallpaper.
- Search the Face Gallery for the watch face, and the device’s wallpaper picker for the iPhone or iPad artwork.
- Confirm that the intended Apple Watch is paired with the iPhone on which you are browsing faces.
- Restart the devices after updating if the asset still does not appear.
- Check the year of the design. Apple’s later Pride releases use different names: Pride Harmony in 2025 and Pride Luminance in 2026.
Apple notes that available faces can differ by Apple Watch and watchOS version. Reinstalling an operating system is not a guaranteed way to restore a missing catalog item.
What the colors signify
Apple said the band’s palette draws on multiple Pride flags. In Apple’s explanation, black and brown represent Black, Hispanic and Latin communities and people affected by HIV/AIDS; pink, light blue and white represent transgender and nonbinary people. This is Apple’s stated symbolism for the design.
Can you still buy the 2024 band?
The documented price is the $99 U.S. launch price from 2024, not a 2026 resale valuation. Current Apple stock was not established by the available information, so do not treat a marketplace listing as official Apple availability. Check Apple’s live Apple Watch bands page first.

If the original design is available only through resale, inspect photographs for the “PRIDE 2024” engraving and original packaging, but neither proves authenticity by itself. Braided material can stretch, discolor or fray, and Solo Loop sizing is especially important. A seller’s return policy is valuable if the fit is wrong.
Readers who mainly want the digital design can use Pride Radiance with another band. A current Apple band offers clearer compatibility support and returns but will not reproduce the 2024 Pride styling. Non-Apple rainbow bands may cost less, yet require separate checks of lug fit, materials, sizing and seller reliability.
Do not confuse it with later Pride collections
Apple’s 2025 collection introduced the Pride Edition Sport Band and Pride Harmony face and wallpaper. The 2026 collection used the Pride Luminance name. Those releases are context, not additional products in the 2024 collection. Their announcements are at Apple’s 2025 Pride Collection page and Apple’s 2026 Pride Collection page.
