Accordingly, this is an independent customization of a Rolex watch, not a Rolex-produced or Rolex-authorized edition. The atelier’s history page identifies 2022 as the year of its work with Pirlo. Artisans de Genève’s history provides that retrospective account.
What is known about the skeletonized movement and design?
The atelier says it skeletonized an automatic haute horlogerie calibre for Pirlo. The project description available from the atelier does not name the calibre, quantify the modification, or publish performance results. Claims about a specific movement or its operating characteristics should therefore be treated as unconfirmed unless supported by project-specific documentation.

Pirlo’s broader relationship with the atelier is visible in a testimonial on its homepage. He describes a third customization and says he wanted to carry forward blue, rose gold, and a skeletonized cut while adapting those design codes to an Aquanaut. How does it compare with the current standard Submariner?
Rolex’s current Submariner reference 124060 is useful as context for the standard model, not as a specification sheet for Pirlo’s customized watch. Rolex lists the following details for the 124060 on its official product page; none is independently confirmed for the modified commission.

Rolex’s Submariner 124060 product page is the source for the stock model figures. The US price shown there is not a valuation of Pirlo’s commission, nor evidence of what its original owner paid.
Why the Submariner’s diving history matters
The Submariner has a long history as a diving watch, but that history cannot establish the customized watch’s current performance. Rolex dates the model’s introduction to 1953, when it was waterproof to 100 metres. Rolex says the Submariner Date arrived in 1969 and that the Submariner itself was guaranteed to 300 metres from 1989.
