The blue Santos de Cartier Large is reference WSSA0048: a stainless-steel watch with a blue PVD-coated bezel, blue striped dial, and automatic caliber 1847 MC. Its documented launch price was €6,650 excluding taxes in 2022; that historical figure is not a current price quote.
What is the blue PVD Santos de Cartier Large?
Cartier introduced the blue version in 2022 as the Santos de Cartier Large reference WSSA0048. The blue PVD treatment is on the bezel, not across the entire case: the case itself is stainless steel. The launch report describes a striped pattern on the bezel and dial.
The silver-dial counterpart is reference WSSA0047. These references distinguish the blue and silver dial options in the 2022 launch family; they should not be confused with WSSA0037, a separate Large model with a grey dial and ADLC bezel.

What was the launch price?
Monochrome Watches reported a launch price of €6,650 excluding taxes in 2022, with availability expected in the weeks after its April 4, 2022 article. What the specifications do—and do not—tell you
The reported 100 m water resistance and supplied rubber strap provide useful configuration details, but they do not establish a particular activity rating or suitability for a specific use. Likewise, the listed dimensions describe the case; the available sources do not support conclusions about subjective wrist fit or the long-term durability of the blue PVD finish.
Monochrome describes the Santos de Cartier as a sporty, casual luxury watch intended with daily wear in mind. That is the publication’s editorial characterization, not a quotation from Cartier.
