Notebookcheck reported the Casio Pro Trek PRG-270-1 at $120 on Amazon on October 4, 2026, against a $200 list price—a 40% discount from list. Its cited Keepa history puts the 90-day average at $179.93, so the deal is notable against recent pricing, but the Amazon price and availability may have changed. Check the reported Amazon deal and confirm the seller, stock, and final checkout total before buying.
Is the Casio Pro Trek PRG-270-1 worth buying?
The PRG-270-1 is an outdoor-focused digital watch for buyers who want a compass, altimeter, barometer and thermometer, along with solar charging. Casio specifies 100-metre water resistance and operation at temperatures as low as -10°C. Its usefulness depends on whether you want those outdoor readings and can accommodate its substantial case: 54.6 × 52.4 × 15 mm and 67 g, according to Casio’s specifications. Those dimensions are a fit consideration, not a universal drawback; there is no hands-on fit assessment here.
The feature set makes it more specialized than a basic digital watch. The trade-off is that its altitude reading is pressure-derived and needs context, while the case may feel large on some wrists. This is a specification-based assessment, not an independent test of comfort or sensor performance.
What does the PRG-270-1 Triple Sensor measure?
Casio’s Triple Sensor Version 3 provides digital compass, barometer and altimeter functions; the watch also displays temperature. Casio says the sensors are 95% smaller than those in previous models—its own comparison, not an independently measured finding.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Compass and weather readings
The digital compass provides direction readings. The barometer’s specified range is 260–1,100 hPa, and its pressure-tendency graph covers 42 hours. The thermometer displays temperature. These are manufacturer specifications; they do not establish independent measurement accuracy.
Altitude readings and calibration
The altimeter’s specified range is -700 to 10,000 metres. It estimates altitude from accumulated changes in atmospheric pressure, so changing weather can affect the reading. Casio recommends setting the watch at a known elevation when greater precision is needed. Treat it as a useful reference rather than an independently verified surveying instrument.

Is the Casio PRG-270-1 really 40% off?
Notebookcheck’s October 4, 2026 report gives $120 on Amazon against a $200 list price, which is 40% below list. The same report cites Keepa-derived averages of $179.93 over the preceding 90 days and $168.49 over 180 days. It also reports a historical low of $74.99 in December 2017. These are figures reported by Notebookcheck from its cited Keepa data, not a live Amazon price check.
The reported $120 offer is below those cited recent averages, but it is not the lowest historical price in that account. Amazon prices, sellers and stock can change; verify the current listing and checkout total before deciding whether the discount still applies.

How long does the Tough Solar battery last?
Casio Canada estimates approximately nine months of operation on a full charge without further light exposure. This is a manufacturer estimate, not a field-tested runtime; actual operation depends on use and charging conditions. Casio says, “Tough Solar ensures stable operation even when using power-hungry functions.” See the Casio Canada product page.
