What is the Citizen NY0100-50XE?
Citizen UK names this reference “Promaster Diver Automatic”; MONOCHROME described it as the Promaster Marine Automatic Diver 200m Super Titanium. The green-dial version combines the Promaster Marine’s utilitarian dive-watch layout with a less conventional color treatment. Its dial and bezel insert are green, while the minute and seconds hands are red. Applied luminous markers and a day-date display at 3 o’clock complete the face, according to MONOCHROME’s review published on 2021-10-08 (MONOCHROME review and specifications).
Size, materials, and design
MONOCHROME lists the case at 42 mm in diameter and 12 mm high. It is brushed Super Titanium, with a matching solid-link bracelet, a screw-fixed titanium caseback, and a screw-down crown positioned at 8 o’clock. The crystal is mineral glass, and the green aluminium bezel insert has a 60-minute scale with unidirectional operation. The bracelet is listed with a safety folding clasp and diving extension.
That crown position distinguishes the watch from the more familiar 3 o’clock arrangement. MONOCHROME’s reviewer said it could feel awkward when adjusting the watch, but comfortable on the wrist; that is the reviewer’s handling impression, not an independent fit assessment. The same review lists the watch at 110 g on its bracelet and describes it as light and comfortable.

Citizen’s Super Titanium and Duratect surface-hardening claims are a notable part of the proposition. MONOCHROME says the material is 40% lighter than steel and harder than 1,000 Hv; those figures are the publication’s reported claims, not measurements made for this article. The green treatment lends the watch a more casual look, in the reviewer’s view, while retaining the Promaster’s functional design cues.
Movement and functions
The movement is Citizen calibre 8203, an automatic mechanical calibre. MONOCHROME’s 2021 specification block lists 21 jewels, a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, a 40-hour power reserve, and a stated regulation of +/-20 seconds per day. These are published specifications, not independently measured performance figures. The display provides hours, minutes, seconds, and day-date.

A 40-hour reserve is enough to cover a typical overnight period off the wrist, but the watch may stop if left unworn longer. As with any mechanical watch, actual timekeeping can differ from a published regulation figure; the review does not provide independent accuracy testing over time.
Is it a real dive watch?
MONOCHROME lists 200 m water resistance and ISO 6425 diver-watch certification for the NY0100-50XE. Citizen’s general water-resistance chart says a diver’s watch rated to 200 m is suitable for skin and scuba diving (Citizen water-resistance guidance). This is more than a dive-inspired appearance, but a rating is not a guarantee that an older, damaged, or poorly maintained watch remains watertight.

- If the crown is a screw-lock type, make sure it is secured before water exposure; do not use it while unlocked.
- Rinse off seawater, sweat, and dirt after exposure, following Citizen’s general guidance.
- Have water resistance checked and follow the reference-specific instructions before relying on the watch for diving.

Before buying, match the full NY0100-50XE reference, seller, condition, region, and warranty on the actual offer. Availability and marketplace listings can change, and an offer for a similar-looking Promaster is not necessarily this titanium green-dial model.
Who should consider the NY0100-50XE?
This reference makes the most sense for someone who wants an automatic, day-date diver with a green dial and bezel, a titanium case and bracelet, and a substantial stated water-resistance rating. The 42 mm size, unusual 8 o’clock crown, and mineral crystal are practical considerations rather than details to overlook. If you prefer a conventional crown placement, a different crystal type, or a smaller watch, compare exact alternatives in person where possible.
MONOCHROME’s reviewer found the bezel firm but precise and the watch comfortable and light, and praised its durability and design. Those are that reviewer’s impressions, not the result of testing conducted for this article. The review also suggested an accordion-style rubber strap as a visual alternative; it did not establish the lug width or confirm strap compatibility, so verify the attachment dimensions and fit before ordering one.
