Samsung began rolling out a maintenance update for the Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic in June 2025. It moves affected watches from the October 1, 2024 security patch to the March 1, 2025 patch and includes performance, stability and security improvements—not a new Wear OS generation or major One UI Watch redesign.
This was a June 2025 rollout, not the newest Watch4 software in 2026. Samsung’s U.S. firmware history now lists later releases, so use the build numbers below to identify that specific update rather than treating it as the current patch.
Which Galaxy Watch models are included?
The June 18, 2025 report identified these U.S. LTE firmware versions:

These are LTE builds reported for the United States. Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi models use different identifiers and firmware branches, and Samsung says update details can vary by model, country and service provider. The four numbers above therefore do not establish that every Watch4 received the same build.

Samsung’s records show the same March 2025 patch family for the Watch4 44mm LTE model and an international Watch4 Classic build family. You can compare model-specific histories at Samsung’s U.S. Watch4 firmware page and Samsung’s Watch4 Classic firmware page.
What the update changes
March 1, 2025 security patch
The reported release carries the March 1, 2025 Android security patch level. The watches cited in the rollout had been on the October 1, 2024 patch, so the update closes part of that gap. A patch level describes the security content included in the software; it does not mean Samsung distributed the update in March. The rollout report was dated June 18, 2025.

Performance and reliability maintenance
The changelog describes improved device stability and security, with general performance and reliability improvements. It does not list a new Wear OS version, a major One UI Watch redesign, or a defined set of new health, battery or interface features. Expect maintenance rather than a feature overhaul.
Security context without overclaiming
Samsung’s March 2025 security maintenance addressed Galaxy Watch-related issues documented by NIST, including an access-control problem in the sem_wifi service and an incorrect-permissions issue involving Watch Gallery. See the records for CVE-2025-20911 and CVE-2025-20910. The broad Watch4 changelog does not map every CVE to every listed build, so it would be inaccurate to promise that a particular model fixes every vulnerability named in those records.

How to install the update
- Charge the watch or place it on its charger.
- Give the paired phone a stable internet connection, preferably Wi‑Fi.
- Open Galaxy Wearable.
- Open Watch settings.
- Select Watch software update.
- Tap Download and install if an update is offered.
- Keep the phone and watch connected until the installation and restart finish.
Labels can differ with the Galaxy Wearable version, phone language, watch software and region. If supported on your model, you can also open the watch’s Settings app and use its software-update section.
How to verify the result
On the watch, open Settings → About watch → Software information. Check the build number, Android/Wear OS version and Android security patch level. A U.S. LTE owner can compare the displayed build with the model-specific entries above, but should not expect a Bluetooth model or another country’s device to match them exactly.

Why the update may not appear
- Staged rollout: Samsung releases firmware in waves rather than to every watch at once.
- Model branch: Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi watches use different firmware from LTE watches.
- Region or carrier: LTE approval and scheduling can differ among carriers and countries.
- Imported device: Software generally follows the watch’s original sales region or product code, not necessarily its current location.
- Already newer: The watch may have skipped this build because it already installed a later one.
- Connection or power conditions: Low battery, limited storage, unstable Wi‑Fi or an outdated phone-side management app can block a check.
Troubleshooting sequence
- Restart both the phone and watch.
- Update Galaxy Wearable and its installed watch-management components through the phone’s app store.
- Put the watch on its charger and connect the phone to reliable Wi‑Fi.
- Run the check again through Galaxy Wearable.
- Compare the complete build number with the correct model and region, not just the headline patch date.
Do not factory-reset the watch simply to force an update; a reset is not a normal first-line solution and creates backup and re-pairing work. Manual cross-region flashing can also cause compatibility, bootloader and data-loss problems and should not be treated as casual troubleshooting.

No. The March 1, 2025 patch describes the June 2025 rollout. Samsung’s U.S. page for model SM-R875U lists a June 23, 2026 build, R875USQS2JZE1, with the May 5, 2026 security patch. Check Samsung’s official support and update guidance or your model’s firmware history for a newer release.

Should you install it or replace the watch?
Install an offered security update promptly unless you need the watch immediately for a time-critical activity and cannot risk a restart or temporary pairing interruption. This patch alone is not a reason to replace a functioning Watch4. Replacement or repair decisions should instead reflect battery condition, hardware damage, support needs and whether the watch still meets your feature requirements.
