Garmin system software 27.00 added settings backup and restore, new update options, ski split tracking and a broad set of fixes for the Fēnix 6 family and related watches. Garmin said the release was fully rolled out; an earlier report’s 10% figure describes only the rollout snapshot reported on May 16, 2024.
Which watches received software 27.00?
Garmin’s release post covers the Fēnix 6, MARQ, Enduro and Tactix Delta families. Garmin-Jimmy wrote in the official forum post, “We have fully released system software 27.00.” The announcement confirms this release, but does not establish the latest firmware available for every model today.
What’s new in the update?
- Settings backup and restore: Save device settings and restore them later. Garmin also added a compatibility warning for backups.
- Software-update controls: Pro models gained the ability to manually update software over Wi-Fi. The watches also gained the ability to check for updates over Bluetooth; the announcement does not say that every model supports every delivery method.
- Connect IQ additions: Apps can display ratings for all Connect IQ types, and Connect IQ apps gained support for a 100 Hz sensor rate.
- Ski tools: The update added ski split tracking and changed ski and snowboard summaries to exclude chairlift data.
- Other adjustments: Garmin improved music shuffle randomness on Pro models and removed the course-point limit.
What problems does it fix?
Garmin’s change log lists fixes across activities, connectivity and everyday watch functions, including:
- Alarms in max-battery activities, localized text, indoor-bike data fields, safety notifications and GPS acquisition alerts.
- Golf club pairing, training load, map viewing during Fish activity and workout audio prompts.
- Ski activity behavior, course creation, swim cadence and distance, notifications and LiveTrack.
- eBike data, Connect IQ app crashes and occasional device shutdowns.
The notes also include miscellaneous fixes and improvements. Notebookcheck described the release as containing “over 20 bug fixes” in its May 16, 2024 article; Garmin’s own post lists fixes but does not give a total count.

What did the rollout figures mean?
Notebookcheck reported on May 16, 2024 that 10% of devices had received the update at that time. That was a contemporaneous phased-rollout snapshot, not a final availability figure. Garmin’s forum post subsequently states that software 27.00 was fully released.
