The Grand Seiko SLGA007 is a limited-edition, blue-dial Spring Drive watch made for the brand’s 140th anniversary. Grand Seiko listed it at $8,700 in 2021; its U.S. boutique page still displays that price but currently marks the watch sold out. It pairs the automatic 9RA2 movement’s five-day power reserve with a 40 mm stainless-steel case and a dial inspired by Lake Suwa.
Price and availability
Grand Seiko’s GS9 Club model story listed the SLGA007 at $8,700 in 2021. The U.S. Grand Seiko Boutique Online page currently displays USD $8,700, but marks the model sold out. That is the brand’s listed price, not a current resale-market valuation; secondary-market prices and available examples vary and were not established here. Check the official SLGA007 listing for its current status.
What the SLGA007 is
The SLGA007 belongs to Grand Seiko’s Heritage Collection and commemorates the company’s 140th anniversary. Grand Seiko’s GS9 Club story describes a limited edition of 2,021 watches, scheduled to reach boutiques and selected retailers worldwide in December 2021. It is the steel, blue-dial Lake Suwa reference powered by Spring Drive Caliber 9RA2.
Movement, accuracy and power reserve
The automatic Spring Drive 9RA2 is specified with an approximately 120-hour, or five-day, power reserve. Grand Seiko Boutique Online gives average accuracy as ±0.5 seconds per day or ±10 seconds per month. These are manufacturer specifications, not results from an independent timing test of an individual SLGA007.

Dial and design
Grand Seiko says the dial’s blue texture evokes the gently moving surface of Lake Suwa. The gold-tone seconds hand and gold-tone lettering are intended to reference sunrise over the water. These are the maker’s stated design inspirations, not claims about how the dial will look under every lighting condition.
The see-through back reveals the movement-side power-reserve indicator. Keeping that display off the dial leaves the textured blue surface uninterrupted by a reserve scale.

What “hands-on review” can—and cannot—establish here
The 1916 Company Watch Reviews published a video titled “Grand Seiko Spring Drive Lake Suwa SLGA007 Limited Edition Evolution 9 Hands-On Watch Review” on February 16, 2022. Its description identifies a 40 mm steel case and blue textured dial. That is a third-party review, not a firsthand examination or timing test by WatchRanker; the specifications and design details here are attributed to Grand Seiko.

The similar reference numbers can cause confusion, but these are different watches. SLGA007 is the limited blue-dial, stainless-steel 9RA2 model. SLGB007 is a later Lake Suwa-inspired watch with a black dial, titanium case and bracelet, and 9RB2 movement. Do not use SLGB007’s materials or movement details when evaluating an SLGA007 listing.
