The Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Power Reserve adds a dial-mounted indicator showing the remaining wind on a hand-wound field watch. The model covered here is reference H69509930, with a 40 mm stainless-steel case, black dial and green textile strap. Hamilton specifies an 80-hour power reserve; that is a manufacturer specification, not an independently verified test result.
What is new about the Khaki Field Mechanical Power Reserve?
Hamilton’s press index dates its Khaki Field Power Reserve announcement to September 9, 2025. The release presents a 40 mm mechanical field watch with a power-reserve indicator and an exclusive movement. The “new” description belongs to that 2025 announcement context; it does not establish a 2026 launch.
The defining change is the reserve display on the dial. Rather than relying only on a winding routine or memory, the wearer can glance at the indicator to see the movement’s remaining power. Hamilton describes the display as a way to check how much power remains. Its stated benefit is convenience, not a claim of improved accuracy or timekeeping.
How does the power-reserve display work?
H69509930 uses Hamilton’s manually wound H-23 movement. Its dial indicator is marked “F” for full and “E” for empty, communicating the approximate state of the movement’s wind. Hamilton specifies up to 80 hours of power reserve. No independent measurement establishing actual runtime or indicator accuracy was found, so treat 80 hours as Hamilton’s published specification.

Because this is a manual-wind watch, the wearer turns the crown clockwise to wind it, as Hamilton’s product page instructs. The reserve indicator helps show when winding may be due; it does not remove the need to wind the watch.

Who may value the added complication?
The reserve indicator is most relevant to someone who wants a manual-wind watch but would rather see remaining power on the dial than estimate it from elapsed time since winding. It adds information at a glance, while retaining the direct involvement of winding the crown yourself.
It may be less important to a buyer who prefers an automatic or quartz watch, or who is content with a simpler dial and a regular winding habit. The feature does not, by itself, establish better accuracy, reliability, comfort or value. Those judgments require evidence beyond the listed specifications.

What to check before comparing or buying
- Fit: The 40 mm diameter is only part of the sizing picture. The listed 48 mm lug-to-lug length and 11.95 mm thickness are useful figures to compare with a watch you already find comfortable.
- Strap: This configuration comes on a green textile strap and has 20 mm lugs. A replacement strap should be checked for lug clearance, width and hardware rather than assumed to fit solely from its nominal size.
- Water use: Hamilton lists 10 bar / 100 m water resistance. No independent water-resistance testing is established here; follow the manufacturer’s guidance for actual use.
- Price and availability: These vary by region and can change. A US search result captured weeks before the available product information showed $945 and “in stock,” but that is not a verified current price or stock status. Check Hamilton or an authorized seller for current local details.
- Reference accuracy: H69509930 is the black-dial, green-textile-strap configuration. Do not confuse it with H69509130, a related bracelet reference.
