How does it fit on the wrist?
Fratello reported a 35 mm case diameter, 41.9 mm lug-to-lug measurement and 10.1 mm total thickness, including the domed sapphire crystal, in its 2023 review. The case is compact, but its longer lugs can make it feel more present than the diameter alone suggests. Compare the 41.9 mm span with a watch that fits you well, and consider your wrist shape as well as its width.

The standard model is listed with an 18 mm lug width. That gives you access to common strap styles, but check the precise reference before ordering: strap fit and bracelet end links can vary by configuration.
What are the design and build like?
H°M’S WatchStore’s July 2024 listing describes black, white and eggshell/off-white dial options with applied Art Deco-inspired numerals and arrowhead indexes. The described configurations use dauphine-style hands and a blued central seconds hand. The case is listed as 316L stainless steel, with a double-domed sapphire crystal and a penguin medallion on the case back.
Hands-on coverage lists leather and rubber straps as well as steel bracelet options. Dial, lume tone and attachment details may differ across variants, so compare the exact configuration rather than assuming every Antarctic 35mm looks or wears identically.
What is it like to wind and wear?
The standard Antarctic 35mm uses a manual-winding Landeron 21 movement. The listed specifications are 28,800 vibrations per hour, 17 jewels and a 36-hour power reserve. Because it is hand-wound rather than automatic, winding is part of the daily routine; if left unworn beyond its reserve, it will stop and need resetting.

The watch is stated to have 5 ATM water resistance. Fratello characterizes that as adequate for everyday life, not as a sign that the watch is intended for diving. If you want a watch for regular swimming or demanding water activities, choose one explicitly suited to that use rather than treating this rating as a dive-watch specification.
What did it cost, and is it available now?
Published prices are historical, not current quotes. Fratello’s December 2023 review gave US$850 on a strap and US$1,050 on a bracelet. H°M’S WatchStore’s July 2024 Japanese listing showed ¥154,000 and ¥189,200 for configurations. These figures reflect different dates, markets and setups; check the brand or an authorized retailer for current regional pricing and stock.
Who should consider the Antarctic 35mm?
- A good fit: You want a compact, vintage-styled watch, appreciate a time-only dial and enjoy the ritual of manual winding.
- Think carefully: Your fit decisions depend on diameter alone, you dislike frequent crown interaction, or you need a watch for more demanding water use.
