The Rolex Yacht-Master 42 reference 226627 pairs a 42 mm RLX titanium case and bracelet with a black Cerachrom bezel and Rolex calibre 3235. In Lex Stolk’s hands-on account, the watch felt strikingly light without seeming fragile. That is one reviewer’s experience—not a promise about how it will fit or feel on every wrist.
What the Yacht-Master 42 in RLX titanium is
Rolex identifies reference 226627 as an Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master 42 with an intense black dial and RLX titanium Oyster bracelet. RLX titanium is a grade 5 alloy specially selected by Rolex. What it is like to wear
Lex Stolk wrote that he first saw and handled the watch at Watches and Wonders in 2023, then wore the example that later arrived at Fratello HQ. He describes a stealthy, largely monochromatic appearance and says the watch felt unexpectedly robust despite being light. On his 18 cm wrist, he found it comfortable, and he describes the bracelet as solid and durable. Stolk reports dimensions of 50.3 mm lug-to-lug and 11.6 mm thick, and describes its weight as just over 100 g. Those figures come from his 2024 article; they are not listed in Rolex’s current reference brochure. Lug-to-lug length is particularly useful to consider alongside the 42 mm diameter when judging how a watch may sit across a wrist.
Case, bezel and water resistance
The case measures 42 mm in diameter. Rolex specifies water resistance to 100 m / 330 ft, a Triplock screw-down crown and a sapphire crystal with a Cyclops date magnifier. The bezel turns in both directions and has a 60-minute scale: Rolex says it can be used to read elapsed intervals, including the time between sailing buoys. Calibre 3235 and Rolex’s accuracy standard
The self-winding calibre 3235 displays hours, minutes, central seconds and the date. Rolex lists instantaneous date change, rapid setting and stop-seconds, with approximately 70 hours of power reserve. Rolex says its Superlative Chronometer certification is applied after casing and covers company tests of precision, power reserve, waterproofness and self-winding. Its stated finished-watch precision tolerance is −2/+2 seconds per day, and the certification is coupled with an international five-year guarantee. Bracelet adjustment and practical details
The solid-link Oyster bracelet is made from RLX titanium and closes with an Oysterlock safety clasp. Its Easylink comfort extension lets the wearer add approximately 5 mm, according to Rolex. The company also says patented ceramic inserts inside the titanium links are designed to improve flexibility and help prevent premature wear. How it fits into the Yacht-Master family
Rolex says the Yacht-Master collection began in 1992 and was designed for navigators and skippers, combining nautical function with a sport-luxury style. The bidirectional timing bezel is one practical expression of that purpose. The 226627 brings the collection’s format into a titanium case and bracelet; its defining contrast is the subdued metal against the glossy black dial and matte ceramic bezel. Price and availability: what the dated report says
Stolk’s December 25, 2024 article listed a retail price of €14,650 and described the watch as difficult to obtain through an authorized dealer, with secondary-market examples substantially higher. That is a historical snapshot, not a current September 2026 price, inventory report or estimate of waiting time. Current pricing and availability are not established here.
