The Citizen Tsuyosa 60 Automatic makes a credible value case if you want a dress-leaning automatic watch with a 60-hour power reserve, sapphire crystal and stainless-steel bracelet. For the 40 mm black-dial NK0020-55E, Citizen’s US site displayed a price of $476, reduced from $595 when checked in 2026. That is a dated US listing, not a guaranteed or universal price; the watch’s value depends on the fit, accuracy expectations and price available to you.
What the Tsuyosa 60 offers for the money
The 40 mm black-dial reference NK0020-55E pairs Citizen’s automatic Caliber 8310 with a stainless-steel bracelet, sapphire crystal, date display and 50 m water-resistance rating. Citizen describes the 60’s bracelet as a multi-piece design and also specifies luminous hands and indices, a date magnifier and a transparent caseback. Together, those features make it a substantial specification package for a watch positioned as dressier than a conventional casual sports watch. See the Citizen US NK0020-55E product page for its current listing.
Citizen’s 2025 global announcement describes the line as offering “a more formal, dressy look for any occasion.” That is the manufacturer’s positioning, not an independent assessment. The design details it highlights include a guilloché-style dial, a crown at four o’clock, a multi-piece bracelet and a transparent back. Citizen says the Tsuyosa collection reimagines its NH299 mechanical line, which it describes as a best-selling range in overseas markets in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Citizen’s 2025 launch announcement gives the collection context.
How useful is the 60-hour power reserve?
Citizen specifies approximately 60 hours of running time when Caliber 8310 is fully wound. In practical terms, that gives you more leeway to leave the watch off for a couple of days without it stopping, though actual operation depends on how fully it is wound and how it is used. The reserve is a convenience, not a claim that the watch keeps more accurate time. Citizen’s Tsuyosa 60 overview also lists the 60-hour movement alongside sapphire crystal, a date magnifier, luminous elements and 5 bar water resistance.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
What accuracy should you expect?
Citizen’s 2025 launch specifications give average accuracy of -20 to +40 seconds per day, measured with the watch stationary. The company cautions that mechanical-watch performance can vary with conditions of use. That stated range is worth weighing if you need tighter timekeeping; the 60-hour reserve does not change it. Citizen’s published specifications are the source for both the accuracy range and its measurement qualification.
Is 50 m water resistance enough?
Citizen lists the 40 mm US model at 50 m, while its global launch announcement gives the launch models a 5 BAR rating. Treat that as the stated water-resistance specification, not as proof that the Tsuyosa 60 is a diver’s watch. Follow Citizen’s guidance for permitted water exposure rather than inferring use cases from the depth figure alone.

Which Tsuyosa 60 size and price should you compare?
“Tsuyosa 60” covers multiple references, sizes, colors and configurations, so compare the reference number as well as the collection name. The two black-dial US listings below share Citizen’s headline movement and reserve, but differ in case size and displayed price. Prices are the volatile Citizen US page displays observed in 2026; check the pages for current availability and pricing.
| Reference | Case diameter | Movement and reserve | US displayed price when checked in 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| NK0020-55E, black dial | 40 mm | Automatic Caliber 8310; approximately 60 hours | $476, reduced from a listed original price of $595; Citizen US listing |
| NK0030-51E, black dial | 37 mm | Automatic Caliber 8310; approximately 60 hours | $595; Citizen US listing |
The 37 mm NK0030-51E is a relevant alternative if the 40 mm case is not the fit you want. The displayed prices do not establish a permanent price difference or a universal ranking: they are specific to Citizen’s US pages at the time checked. Citizen’s global 2025 announcement separately projected launch prices of USD 515, USD 550 and USD 590 for three variants. Those launch projections are a different price context from the later US product-page displays and should not be treated as current street prices or a single universal MSRP.

How the Tsuyosa 60 differs from the earlier Tsuyosa
Hodinkee’s 2025 launch coverage describes the Tsuyosa as a value-driven integrated-bracelet offering and distinguishes the earlier standard 40 mm automatic model from the Tsuyosa 60: the earlier model uses Caliber 8210 with a 42-hour reserve, while the Tsuyosa 60 uses Caliber 8310 with a 60-hour reserve. This is editorial context, not an independent head-to-head performance test. Hodinkee’s Tsuyosa 60 introduction covers that distinction.

- Consider it if you want an automatic watch with sapphire crystal, a stainless-steel bracelet, a date display and a longer reserve, and you like its dress-oriented styling.
- Check the fit first by comparing the 40 mm NK0020-55E with the 37 mm NK0030-51E rather than assuming every Tsuyosa 60 wears the same.
- Think carefully if precision is a priority: Citizen’s published average accuracy range is -20 to +40 seconds per day under stationary measurement, with real-world results varying by use.
- Compare actual alternatives at current prices if you are deciding among watches. Relevant factors include movement and reserve, crystal, water resistance, case size, bracelet and clasp, warranty and street price. The available specifications do not establish that the Tsuyosa 60 is the best watch in its class.
