The Jacob & Co. Billionaire Ashoka pairs an elaborate Ashoka-cut diamond setting with a visible one-minute tourbillon. It is presented as a one-of-a-kind high-jewelry watch, but published descriptions disagree on its total diamond weight and reference number. This is a specification-led look: the available sources document the design and claims, but do not establish a firsthand inspection or performance test.
What makes the Billionaire Ashoka distinctive?
The defining feature is its Ashoka-cut diamonds, set across the case, lugs, bezel, bracelet and clasp. William Goldberg’s account of the collaboration identifies the crown as an exception: it is set with a rose-cut white diamond. The result is a continuous expanse of diamonds around a skeletonized movement, with the tourbillon visible at the center of the watch’s mechanical display.
Jacob & Co., in a statement quoted by IGI, describes the “one-minute tourbillon of the Billionaire Ashoka” as “haute horlogerie’s response to the high jewelry tour de force that surrounds it.” The combination is the point: the movement is presented not as a discreet counterweight to the jewelry, but as a visible mechanical feature within it.
How rare is it?
William Goldberg calls the watch a “pièce unique” and says “only one will ever be made.” That is the diamond collaborator’s description of the piece, rather than evidence of a current sale or its present ownership. GPHG’s model record dates its launch to July 2020.

The reference strings differ by source. Jacob & Co.’s current catalog lists BL121.30.BD.UF.A30BD; GPHG records L121.30.BD.UD.A30BD. The available descriptions do not explain how those references relate, so neither should be silently substituted for the other.

How many carats of diamonds does it have?
There is no single consistent published total. William Goldberg reports more than 189 carats, IGI says more than 171 carats, and GPHG lists 38 carats. These figures should remain attributed to their respective sources; the available records do not reconcile the difference.
IGI also reports emerald and presumed ruby accents in examples or imagery it discusses. That differs from William Goldberg’s description of the crown’s rose-cut white diamond, so accent stones should be identified by the particular example or image rather than generalized across every published depiction.

How much does the Jacob & Co. Billionaire Ashoka cost?
Jacob & Co.’s catalog lists reference BL121.30.BD.UF.A30BD at $7,700,000. That is a displayed catalog price, not a verified transaction price or confirmation that the watch is currently available. GPHG separately records CHF 7,000,000 including VAT; the currencies and source contexts do not establish directly comparable current prices.
Because William Goldberg describes the watch as a one-piece creation, ordinary retail availability cannot be assumed. Anyone seeking current availability or provenance should confirm it directly through Jacob & Co. or an authorized retailer.

What the published record does—and does not—establish
The sources support a picture of a highly unusual watch: white gold, a skeletonized manual-winding tourbillon movement, and a broad Ashoka-cut diamond setting. They also establish meaningful uncertainty around the diamond-weight total and reference string. They do not provide a firsthand inspection, independent timing results, water-resistance test or accuracy test, so none can be inferred from the published specifications.
