The Citizen Tsuyosa Automatic Free Willie is a 150-piece custom-dial watch made by IFL Watches in 2024, using Citizen’s Tsuyosa Automatic NJ0151-53M as its base. Its hand-painted light-blue dial shows old-style Mickey on the Moon, planting a flag. Fratello Watches reported its launch price as €890; that is a historical price, not a confirmation of what the watch costs or whether it can still be bought.
What is the Citizen Tsuyosa Free Willie?
It is an IFL Watches customization of the Citizen Tsuyosa Automatic NJ0151-53M, rather than a standard Tsuyosa dial variant. The base model is the light-blue version often described as “Tiffany” blue. IFL added a hand-painted Moon-and-Mickey scene, along with the model’s applied luminous indices and date window.
Jorg Weppelink’s April 29, 2024, report for Fratello Watches describes IFL’s concept as Steamboat Willie travelling without boundaries of time and copyright. The article tied the design to Steamboat Willie entering the public domain on January 1, 2024; that context refers to the specific work and milestone, not every version or use of Mickey Mouse.
How does it differ from the regular Tsuyosa NJ0151-53M?
| Feature | Standard Tsuyosa NJ0151-53M | Free Willie by IFL Watches |
|---|---|---|
| Dial | Light blue | Light blue, with hand-painted Moon-and-Mickey artwork; Fratello reported each dial was individually painted and unique |
| Case, movement and core functions | Citizen Tsuyosa platform | Based on the NJ0151-53M; Fratello reported the specifications below |
| Production | Not stated in Fratello’s April 29, 2024 report | 150 pieces, as reported by Fratello in 2024 |
| Launch price | Not stated in Fratello’s April 29, 2024 report | €890, the price reported at launch in 2024; current pricing is unverified |
An ordinary NJ0151-53M is not the Free Willie edition: the defining difference is IFL’s custom, hand-painted dial and limited production.
