Yes—the Wear OS 3 upgrade for Mobvoi’s TicWatch Pro 3 family and TicWatch E3 was real, but it is not a new August 2026 rollout. Mobvoi announced it on December 12, 2023; the first documented stable updates arrived on December 18, 2023, as Wear OS 3.5. The confirmed group included the TicWatch Pro 3 GPS, Pro 3 Ultra GPS, Pro 3 LTE, Pro 3 Ultra LTE/non-GPS variant, and TicWatch E3. Mobvoi attributed the delay to rebuilding its software architecture around the Snapdragon Wear 4100 platform and its proprietary dual-system design, followed by extensive debugging. The result was reported as Wear OS 3.5, although headlines commonly shortened it to “Wear OS 3.”
What changed with Wear OS 3.5?
- Revised Wear OS navigation and user interface.
- Updated system apps and services.
- Updated security components.
- A new Mobvoi software architecture designed for the dual-display and dual-system hardware.
- A different phone-side companion-app arrangement.
The companion app changed
After updating, Android owners were directed to use Mobvoi Health instead of the Wear OS by Google companion app. iPhone owners were directed to Health CoPilot. Because the phone architecture changes, expect to migrate apps and potentially pair the watch again. The available rollout reports do not establish that every owner must factory-reset, nor do they guarantee that apps, tiles, watch faces, settings, notifications, health data, or LTE/eSIM configuration will transfer unchanged.
How to check for the update
- On the watch, swipe down from the top of the screen.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap System.
- Tap System updates.
- Let the watch check for available firmware and follow the on-screen instructions.
For automatic installation, Mobvoi says the watch should be on its charger, charged to the required minimum, and connected to Wi-Fi. The minimum battery level depends on the Wear OS version. Mobvoi says installation generally takes up to about an hour; the watch cannot be used during installation and reboots when it finishes.

If no update appears
- Open Settings → System → System updates again while the watch is charging and connected to Wi-Fi.
- Confirm the exact model, including GPS versus LTE and Pro 3 versus Pro 3 Ultra.
- Charge the watch sufficiently and leave it on the charger during the check.
- Update Mobvoi Health or Health CoPilot from the official phone app store.
- Allow for the original phased distribution and regional or carrier differences.
- If an eligible watch remains stuck after these checks, contact Mobvoi support rather than installing unofficial firmware.
In 2026, a watch that still reports “up to date” may already have the final firmware offered to its model, may be outside the confirmed eligibility group, or may have a regional/carrier-specific issue. The December 2023 rollout window itself is no longer ongoing.
Prepare before installing
- Synchronize health data and confirm that recent workouts and measurements appear in the phone app.
- Photograph or note important settings, tiles, alarms, watch faces, notification choices, and app names.
- Make sure you can sign in to your Mobvoi account and any Google, carrier, or LTE service used by the watch.
- Plan for possible re-pairing and downtime of up to about an hour.
- If the watch is paired to an iPhone or uses LTE/eSIM, verify compatibility and be prepared for model- and carrier-specific reconfiguration.
After the upgrade: checks that matter
- Install or open Mobvoi Health on Android, or Health CoPilot on iOS where supported.
- Pair the watch again if the phone does not reconnect automatically.
- Check notifications, calls, health synchronization, alarms, tiles, watch faces, and app permissions.
- For LTE models, verify mobile service and eSIM status with the carrier before relying on the watch away from the phone.
- Confirm that critical data has synchronized before removing the old phone app or resetting anything.
Specific feature removals were not established by the rollout reports. Treat any missing app, watch face, Google service, or setting as a model- and software-specific issue and consult Mobvoi’s release notes or support rather than assuming every owner has the same behavior. Should you keep the watch or replace it?
Keeping it makes sense when
- Wear OS 3.5 supplies the interface and services you need.
- Battery life and health functions remain acceptable.
- You are comfortable with the Mobvoi companion app and possible re-pairing.
- You do not need a current warranty or guaranteed major-version upgrades.
Replacement deserves consideration when
- You need predictable future Wear OS releases and security maintenance.
- You depend on current Google, Samsung, or carrier integrations.
- The watch’s battery, LTE service, or app compatibility has deteriorated.
- You want readily available retail stock and warranty support.
Later reporting said Mobvoi watches had largely disappeared from retailers and described support for existing devices as “essential” support. That wording is not a promise of Wear OS 4 or later. Consider current alternatives such as Google Pixel Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch, OnePlus Watch, or a newer Mobvoi model only after checking live availability, warranty, compatibility, and pricing.
