What is the Montblanc 1858 Unveiled Minerva Chronograph?
MB133296 is a stainless-steel chronograph from Montblanc’s 1858 collection. It combines a monopusher chronograph with a skeleton sapphire dial and a fixed white-gold fluted bezel. Montblanc describes the edition as limited to 100 pieces and exclusive to its boutiques. The designation “monopusher” means the chronograph is controlled through a single pusher; Montblanc lists a central chronograph-seconds hand and a 30-minute counter.

What does the reversed movement show?
The watch uses Montblanc Manufacture calibre MB M17.26, a hand-finished, manually wound movement. Rather than keeping the movement’s mechanical architecture behind the dial, Montblanc reverses its display so the regulating organ, going train, bridges and plate are visible through the sapphire dial. The chronograph complication is described by Montblanc as being constructed on pillars.

Five apertures in the case band admit additional light to the movement. Montblanc’s explanation is that this lets the mechanical action be seen more clearly; it is a design rationale, not a measured claim about visibility or performance.
Time and Watches reported 291 components for the MB M17.26 edition in its May 2024 coverage. That is a publication-reported specification, not a new independent component count for this article.

Price and edition: check the exact version
Montblanc’s US product page lists MB133296 at $61,000. The page also offers a contact or enquiry route and an availability notification; those options do not confirm that a particular boutique currently has the watch in stock.
Prices reported for other dates or versions should not be treated as interchangeable with that US listing. Time and Watches gave a €49,000 launch price in its May 2, 2024 article. Fratello reported €55,000 in its August 15, 2025 hands-on of a separate steel-and-yellow-gold version. These are differently dated reports, in euros, and the latter concerns a different finish; neither establishes a current price for MB133296.

Montblanc’s Minerva collection includes multiple Unveiled and monopusher models. Before comparing listings, confirm the reference, edition size, case and bezel materials, bridge finish, dimensions, water-resistance rating, strap and clasp, and the date and region attached to any price.
What to know before buying
- Confirm availability directly. The 100-piece limit and boutique-exclusive designation describe the edition, but the official listing does not establish stock at a specific location.
- Keep the water-resistance rating in perspective. Montblanc rates the watch at 3 bar / 30 metres. That is the manufacturer’s rating, not a recommendation to swim or dive with it.
- Ask about strap details if replacement matters. The official listing calls the strap interchangeable but does not state its width or provide enough compatibility information to establish a third-party replacement.
- Separate published specifications from tested performance. The available sources do not establish accuracy, durability, market appreciation or ownership costs for this reference.
How it differs from the steel-and-yellow-gold edition
Fratello’s August 2025 hands-on article covers a separate steel-and-yellow-gold version with brown-coated bridges, not MB133296’s blue-bridge configuration. It reports 291 components, 26 jewels, a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour (2.5 Hz), and a 50-hour power reserve for that version. Those figures belong to the version Fratello covered and should not be silently assigned to MB133296.
