Both share the anniversary dial design, but the Sun & Moon adds a rotating day/night display and weekday hand, with a larger, thicker case. Orient said production was limited to 9,500 classic models and 5,500 Sun & Moon models.
Which Orient Bambino models mark the 75th anniversary?
Orient’s 75th anniversary fell in 2025, 75 years after the brand launched in 1950. The two Bambino editions covered here are distinct watches, not two names for one model. Their Japanese references are RN-AC0027S and RN-AK0808S; Orient Watch USA lists them under different US SKUs.

Specifications and allocations are from Epson Sales Japan’s February 13, 2025 launch announcement and Orient Watch USA’s model listings. The thickness figures for the classic model differ slightly by source, so both are identified rather than treated as interchangeable.
How do the two anniversary Bambinos differ?
Classic date model: RN-AC0027S
The classic anniversary Bambino keeps the simpler calendar layout, with a date display. Its 40.5 mm case is 1 mm narrower than the Sun & Moon’s. It uses the F6724 automatic movement, which can also be wound by hand.

Sun & Moon model: RN-AK0808S
The Sun & Moon adds a disc that rotates once every 24 hours to indicate day and night, along with a weekday hand. This is a day/night display, not a moonphase complication. The model has a 41.5 mm-wide, 14.2 mm-thick case and uses the F6B24 automatic, hand-winding movement. Its greater width and thickness are useful measurements to compare against a watch you already wear when considering fit.
What anniversary details and straps do they share?
Both watches have a white dial, the cursive Orient logo associated with the brand’s 1950s designs, pink-gold-colored indices, blue hands, and an exhibition case back. The back bears anniversary wording and an individual limited-edition serial number. Orient’s January 31, 2025 release states: “The see-through case back revealing the mechanical movement is marked ‘Orient Since 1950 75th Anniversary’ and engraved with a limited-edition serial number.”

Strap descriptions vary by market listing. Epson’s Japan announcement describes the included anniversary strap as beige calf leather and says an additional calf strap is included. Orient Watch USA describes the classic model’s supplied strap as brown suede and specifies an additional brown leather strap. Epson also notes that the Bambino line receives an easy-exchange strap arrangement with this release. Check the listing for the market and exact reference you are buying; the descriptions should not be assumed to describe identical strap sets.
How limited are the editions, and what did they cost at launch?
Epson Sales Japan announced total production of 9,500 RN-AC0027S watches and 5,500 RN-AK0808S watches. Its allocation figures distinguish Japan from overseas, but do not establish how many remain available in any market today.

What do the movement and water-resistance specifications mean?
Epson specifies 40 hours or more of running time for both movement families. Its stated static accuracy specification for both model groups is +25 to −15 seconds per day. That is the manufacturer’s specification, not a measured result for an individual watch.

Both models are rated to 3 bar / 30 m. This rating does not make either watch a dive watch. Follow Orient’s guidance for the specific watch and avoid treating the depth figure as a recommendation for underwater use.

- Choose RN-AC0027S if you want the more restrained date display and the narrower case.
- Choose RN-AK0808S if you prefer the day/night disc and weekday hand and are comfortable with the wider, thicker case.
- For either model, confirm the reference, market-specific strap description, and current availability before buying. The US SKUs differ from the Japanese references.
Orient’s anniversary program also included watches from other collections and separate Peanuts collaborations. Those are outside this comparison; the two Bambino references here are the classic date and Sun & Moon editions.
