It launched on July 30, 2024, with a 380mAh battery, a 1.43-inch AMOLED display, Bluetooth calling and ChatGPT 3.5-backed features. The headline endurance figure is a restricted-mode maximum, not the expected result with every feature enabled.
This article covers the India model and separates Realme’s launch claims from what buyers can reasonably expect.
What Realme actually launched
Realme announced the Watch S2 in India on July 30, 2024, alongside the Realme 13 Pro series. General sales began on August 5 through Realme India, the Realme Store app, Flipkart and selected offline retailers. Those teaser claims were followed by a final product with the following reported specifications.

Launch specifications and pricing were reported by Gadgets 360 and FoneArena. Realme’s announcement positioning is also documented on its launch-event page.

How to interpret the 20-day battery claim
Realme’s endurance figures vary sharply with settings. The 20-day number applies to a maximum battery-saving scenario with Always-On Display (AOD) disabled, Bluetooth calling disabled and no more than three health-tracking sensors active. Realme also published lower figures for more demanding conditions.
| Usage condition | Claimed endurance |
|---|---|
| Maximum battery-saving scenario | Up to 20 days |
| Standard use | Up to 14 days |
| AOD enabled | Up to 5 days |
| Standby | Up to 38 days |
These are manufacturer claims, not an independent test. Notifications that frequently wake the screen, high brightness, regular workouts, continuous health sensing, phone synchronisation and Bluetooth calls can all reduce runtime. In practical terms, the 20-day figure demonstrates the battery’s ceiling when major drains are limited; “up to 14 days” is the more relevant published benchmark for standard use.
Realme’s watch pages explain that battery results depend on test conditions and that health readings are for reference. See Realme’s watch information for those qualifications.

What the Watch S2’s “AI” features do
ChatGPT-backed assistant
The watch is marketed with ChatGPT 3.5-backed assistant functionality through the Realme Link ecosystem. That wording does not establish that a complete ChatGPT model runs locally on the watch or works offline. Phone, Bluetooth and app connectivity can be required; the user-manual material says Realme Link must remain connected for certain AI voice-dial functions. The manual is available through this reference copy.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesAI-generated watch faces
Within the Realme Link app, users can create watch-face artwork using voice-controlled image generation. This is a personalisation tool, not evidence of AI-based medical diagnosis or advanced on-device intelligence. Availability can depend on the app version, account, internet access, phone software and region.
AI sports and health analysis
Realme also promoted AI assistance for sports and health experiences. Heart-rate, SpO2, sleep and menstrual-health results should be treated as wellness estimates, not clinical measurements or a substitute for medical equipment.

Display, design and everyday smartwatch functions
The circular 1.43-inch AMOLED panel is one of the Watch S2’s clearest hardware benefits. Its stated 466 × 466 resolution, 326 ppi density and up to 600-nit brightness support a sharp, high-contrast interface. The case has a metallic or stainless-steel appearance, with silicone-strap Midnight Black and Ocean Silver versions plus a Metallic Grey model using a bamboo-joint steel strap.
Bluetooth calling, notifications, cloud watch faces and activity tracking make it a feature-rich budget smartwatch. The Realme Link app handles pairing, synchronisation, watch-face management and AI-related functions, so the watch is not an entirely independent device.
IP68 does not mean “waterproof”
The Watch S2 is IP68-rated for dust and water resistance under specified test conditions. That label should not be turned into an unrestricted swimming, diving or hot-shower recommendation. Check Realme’s model-specific care guidance before exposing it to those situations.

|---|---|
| Midnight Black, silicone strap | ₹4,999 |
| Ocean Silver, silicone strap | ₹4,999 |

Realme’s India store still listed the Watch S2 in August 2026, but the available listing did not expose a dependable live price. Treat the figures above as historical launch prices and verify the current amount, stock and warranty directly at the Realme India store. The documented launch evidence is India-specific; it does not establish US availability, pricing or warranty support.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the Watch S2 does not establish
- No confirmed standalone GPS specification for the final India model; teaser-era reports described GPS as possible rather than definite.
- No cellular/LTE connectivity or Wear OS-style third-party app ecosystem is established by the launch coverage.
- No evidence of guaranteed offline AI processing.
- No medical-grade monitoring or independently verified training accuracy.
Who should buy it?
Good fit
- Android buyers wanting long claimed battery life, notifications and Bluetooth calls at a budget price.
- Realme-phone owners already comfortable with the Realme Link app.
- Users who value an AMOLED display, metallic styling, many sports presets and watch-face variety.
Look elsewhere if you need
- Standalone GPS, LTE, navigation or a deep third-party app catalogue.
- Serious running or cycling metrics with independently verified location data.
- Medical monitoring or clinical-grade readings.
- Confirmed local availability and warranty outside India.
- An AI assistant as the main reason to buy; the connected AI tools may be more novelty than necessity.
Battery or AI problem? Start with these checks
Battery life is much shorter than expected
Check whether AOD, Bluetooth calling, frequent notifications, repeated workouts, high brightness or several continuous sensors are enabled. Reducing those loads is the only way to approach Realme’s restricted 20-day scenario.

An AI feature is missing or unreliable
Update Realme Link, confirm that the watch is paired and permitted to communicate with the phone, restore the Bluetooth connection and check internet access. Regional, account, software-version or temporary cloud-service restrictions can also affect availability. Use Realme’s support documentation rather than installing unofficial app packages.
Verdict
The Realme Watch S2’s strongest reasons to buy are its AMOLED display, Bluetooth calling, styling and battery capacity at its India launch price. The 20-day claim is real only under restrictive settings, while standard use was rated at up to 14 days and AOD at up to five. ChatGPT-backed assistance, generated watch faces and AI sports features add interest, but they rely on the connected Realme Link ecosystem and should not be mistaken for local ChatGPT processing or medical intelligence. For a budget smartwatch buyer in India, battery and everyday functions matter more than the AI label.
