Oysterflex is not a conventional rubber strap: Rolex describes flexible metal blades inside each bracelet section, overmoulded with black elastomer. This guide maps the principal references identified here and rates them on disclosed criteria—not resale predictions or unverified wrist impressions. It is not an exhaustive catalog of every dial, gem-set configuration or production suffix.
What Oysterflex is—and what it is not
Rolex describes the Daytona Oysterflex as “made up of two flexible curved metal blades – one in each bracelet section – overmoulded with high-performance black elastomer.” The construction gives the bracelet an elastomer exterior with metal structure beneath it; calling it simply a rubber strap leaves out a defining part of the design. On the Daytona, Rolex also specifies inner cushions, an Oysterlock safety clasp and Glidelock adjustment. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent comfort or durability test results. Rolex Daytona reference 126515LN
For Yacht-Master models, Rolex likewise describes two overmoulded metal blades, an Oysterlock clasp and a patented Glidelock extension mechanism. Rolex says its Yacht-Master Glidelock has six notches of approximately 2.5 mm each, providing about 15 mm of adjustment. Its Daytona collection page also describes up to about 15 mm of Glidelock adjustment. Rolex Yacht-Master collection specifications · Rolex Cosmograph Daytona collection specifications
Principal Rolex Oysterflex reference map
The table covers principal references surfaced in the available reference guide, not every dial or gem-set suffix. Rolex’s collection pages establish the model families and Oysterflex construction; the detailed reference mapping and historical transitions below rely in part on Bob’s Watches, a secondary source. Treat “current” as that guide’s lineup description rather than a guarantee of present catalog status or stock.

How these watches are rated
These ratings assess only characteristics supported by the reference map and manufacturer specifications: case-size choice, metal options, the complication or role identified for the family, and confidence in the reference evidence. They do not rate personal comfort, durability, scarcity or investment value. A reference supported only by the secondary guide receives a lower confidence rating than one independently confirmed by Rolex.

What to verify when identifying a specific watch
- Match the complete reference, including its suffix, to the exact metal, dial and configuration; a family-level reference list does not prove every variant.
- For unusual gem-set, stone-dial or special-color versions, seek model-specific documentation rather than relying on a general Oysterflex list.
- Separate a model’s catalog status from a retailer’s inventory: the secondary guide’s “current” labels do not establish availability today.
- For an exact specification or sale price, use the product page for the relevant market and reference. The detailed 126515LN figures above apply to Rolex’s US page.
