Samsung’s One UI 6 Watch Beta 2 was a limited 2024 test release, not a stable update—and it is no longer rolling out. The Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic received a build ending ZXFB in the United States and South Korea in late June 2024; Watch 5 and Watch 4 models followed with builds ending ZXG3 in South Korea in July. The releases focused mainly on fixes and optimization, and the rollout was staggered by model and region.
Which Galaxy Watches got Beta 2, and when?
Samsung’s beta program covered the Galaxy Watch 4, Watch 4 Classic, Watch 5, Watch 5 Pro, Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic. That did not mean every model received the second beta at once. Samsung named the United States and South Korea as beta markets, while individual build releases appeared at different times.
| Reported rollout | Models | Region | Build ending | Reported focus |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| June 27–28, 2024 | Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic | United States and South Korea | ZXFB | Stability, reboot fixes, battery behavior and app performance |
| July 11, 2024 | Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro | South Korea | ZXG3 | Optimization, power use, app performance and network interconnection |
| July 12, 2024 | Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic | South Korea | ZXG3 | System optimization, power use and app performance |
The dates and builds reflect contemporary reporting, not a present-day offer. Full firmware identifiers could vary by model and region. Samsung’s original beta announcement described eligibility and U.S./South Korea availability through the Samsung Members app; it did not mean every eligible watch had an update ready to download.
What did Beta 2 change?
Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic: ZXFB
The Watch 6 release was primarily a corrective update. Its reported changelog described improved system stability, fixes for reboot problems, better battery-consumption behavior, and improved app launch and execution performance, alongside other bug fixes. The reported package was about 434 MB, a model- and region-dependent figure, and carried the July 1, 2024 security patch. See the Watch 6 Beta 2 build report and contemporary rollout details.

Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro: ZXG3
The Watch 5 series’ July 11 South Korean release described system stabilization and optimization, reduced power consumption, faster app launches and improved network interconnection. The reported download was 299.45 MB; that figure applies to the reported build, not every variant. Details appear in the Watch 5 Beta 2 report.
Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic: ZXG3
The July 12 South Korean build emphasized stabilization, optimization, lower power consumption and improved app performance. The reported download was about 300 MB. A known issue remained: on at least these Watch 4 builds, Always-on Display could stay active when the watch was not being worn. The Watch 4 Beta 2 report describes the changelog and issue.
Battery improvements in the changelogs were stated goals, not a guarantee of longer battery life on every watch. Beta 2 was principally about stability and optimization; the headline features belonged to the broader One UI 6 Watch release.
What was new in One UI 6 Watch?
One UI 6 Watch is Samsung’s watch software built on Wear OS 5; it is separate from Android phone One UI 6. The wider update introduced or developed features that should not be mistaken for Beta 2 additions:

- Larger Super AMOLED Display: Expanded screen area with slimmer bezels for improved visibility and usability.
- Health and wellness insights: Galaxy AI-assisted features included Energy Score, which combines sleep, activity, heart-rate and heart-rate-variability data, plus more detailed sleep analysis.
- Training tools: Personalized workout routines and Race, which lets runners or cyclists compare a current effort with a previous performance.
- Controls and interface: Double-pinch and universal gestures, faster horizontal scrolling, expanded Modes and Routines controls, notification-management changes and updated typography.
- Device experience: Bluetooth-earbud integration and performance and battery optimizations.
Samsung said Energy Score requires suitable health data, a compatible Samsung Galaxy phone, Samsung Health and a Samsung account. Feature availability can also depend on phone model, software and country. These health features are for wellness and personal reference, not for diagnosing or treating medical conditions. Samsung’s feature announcement sets out the qualifications; its One UI 6 Watch overview gives update context.
Who could enroll, and why might the update be missing?
Eligibility for the beta program, release of a particular Beta 2 build, and an update appearing for an individual watch were separate steps. The program was officially described for the United States and South Korea, and availability could vary by exact model and Bluetooth or LTE variant. Early beta access emphasized Bluetooth Watch 6 models; other variants and generations followed on their own schedules. Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra shipped with One UI 6 Watch, rather than joining this older-watch beta in the same way.
- No Samsung Members beta banner: Enrollment may be closed, unavailable in your country, or unsupported for your exact watch or variant.
- Eligible watch, no update yet: Rollouts were staged. Check again later; do not sideload unofficial firmware.
- Watch not visible in Galaxy Wearable: Reconnect it and check that the phone has internet access.
- LTE model: A Bluetooth model’s release date does not establish availability for the corresponding LTE model.
- Non-Samsung phone: The official enrollment path relied on Samsung Members and a compatible Galaxy phone; enrollment from every Android phone was not established.
How to enroll and install the beta
These were the official consumer app paths while enrollment was open. They do not make the historical beta available today.
- Install or update Samsung Members on a compatible Samsung phone, then sign in with the Samsung account associated with the watch.
- Open the One UI 6 Watch beta announcement or banner in Samsung Members and register if enrollment is available for the watch and region.
- Open Galaxy Wearable and select the connected watch.
- Go to Watch settings → Watch software update → Download and install. Samsung Community guidance lists this update path in its watch software update instructions.
- Keep the phone and watch connected and adequately charged while the watch downloads, installs and restarts. Back up important watch data first.
If an installation attempt fails, restart the phone and watch, update Galaxy Wearable and the watch plug-in, reconnect, and retry. If it still fails, use Samsung’s official support or beta channels rather than third-party firmware packages.

Should you install a Galaxy Watch beta?
For someone considering the program in 2024, the choice was between early access and dependable day-to-day use. A beta could offer new features and let participants send feedback to Samsung, but it could also bring battery drain, crashes, reboots, connection trouble or app incompatibility. The unresolved Always-on Display behavior on reported Watch 4 builds was a concrete example of the risk. A backup could help preserve data, but it could not remove the possibility of bugs or an inconvenient rollback.
Beta software is a poor fit for a watch relied on for consistent battery life, connectivity or health tracking. Users who needed reliability could stay on stable software and wait for the public release. Samsung’s beta announcement and feature descriptions do not make consumer health insights medical advice.
Is One UI 6 Watch Beta 2 still available?
No. This was a June–July 2024 beta rollout, not an active 2026 update. One UI 6 Watch has since been superseded by later One UI Watch releases; Samsung’s update records for older hardware now include later software, such as the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic update history. Samsung also published a later One UI 6 Watch availability announcement covering broader device availability after the beta period. Check the update record for your exact model for current software rather than looking for Beta 2 enrollment.
