Seiko announced four limited-edition watches for its 145th anniversary, with worldwide availability scheduled for February 2026. The lineup spans a slim mechanical King Seiko, a mechanical Prospex chronograph, an enamel-dial Presage and a GPS Solar Astron chronograph. Japan’s release date is February 6; Seiko’s worldwide announcement gives February 2026 without a specific global day.
When do the four Seiko anniversary watches come out?
Seiko Watch Corporation announced the watches on January 6, 2026, and said they would be available from February 2026 at Seiko boutiques and select retail stores worldwide. Seiko Japan specified February 6, 2026, as the release date in Japan. These are different levels of detail: February 6 is the Japanese date, while Seiko’s global announcement specifies only the month. Seiko Watch Corporation’s January 6 announcement and Seiko Japan’s January 7 announcement provide the respective dates.
How the four models compare
All four are limited editions with gold-colored accents, but their movements, functions and proportions suit different preferences. The table uses US references and US recommended retail prices from Seiko’s January 6 announcement, alongside Japanese references and domestic allocations from Seiko Japan’s January 7 announcement. Japan allocations are included within, not in addition to, the worldwide edition quantities.

What distinguishes each anniversary edition?
King Seiko KS1969 SJE121: a slim mechanical watch
The 39.4 mm steel watch is the thinnest of these four at 9.9 mm. Seiko says its patterned dial draws inspiration from engraving on early timepieces by company founder Kintaro Hattori. The gray gradient darkens toward the edge, set off by gold-colored hands, indexes and lettering. Seiko also highlights its multi-row bracelet and Caliber 6L35, which has a listed 45-hour power reserve. Water resistance is 5 bar.
Prospex Speedtimer SRQ059: a mechanical chronograph
The 42.0 mm Speedtimer pairs a white dial with gold-colored accents and a steel case and bracelet with a super-hard coating. Its Caliber 8R48 chronograph uses a column wheel and vertical clutch; Seiko lists a 30-minute counter and a 12-hour counter. The case is 14.6 mm thick, water resistance is 10 bar and the listed power reserve is 45 hours.

Presage SPB538: an enamel-dial dress-oriented model
The 35.0 mm Presage has a white enamel dial with Roman numerals, an onion crown, a detailed bezel and a leather strap. Seiko links its design to the brand’s Timekeeper pocket watch. The Caliber 6R51 has a listed 72-hour power reserve, the longest stated reserve in this lineup. The case is 12.3 mm thick and water resistance is 5 bar.
Astron SSH186: GPS Solar with dual time and chronograph functions
The Astron is the lineup’s GPS Solar option. Seiko lists GPS time and time-zone adjustment, world time covering 38 time zones, a perpetual calendar to 2100 and 10-bar water resistance. Gold-colored markings at 1, 4 and 5 on the UTC scale refer to the 145th anniversary, according to Seiko. Its 44.1 mm case is 14.4 mm thick.

Which model fits which kind of wearer?
- Choose the King Seiko if a relatively compact, thin mechanical watch is the priority, and the engraved-pattern gray dial is the most appealing design.
- Choose the Prospex if you want a mechanical chronograph with dedicated elapsed-time counters and 10-bar water resistance.
- Choose the Presage if you prefer an enamel dial, traditional dress-watch details and a 72-hour stated power reserve in a 35.0 mm case.
- Choose the Astron if GPS time and time-zone adjustment, world time and solar-powered operation matter more than a conventional mechanical movement.
These are Seiko’s stated specifications and design positioning, not independent wear or performance evaluations. The models share anniversary styling, but their timekeeping approaches and functions are substantially different.

Worldwide quantities are 700 for the Prospex, 800 for the King Seiko, and 1,450 each for the Presage and Astron. Seiko Japan lists domestic allocations of 150 Prospex, 300 King Seiko, 400 Presage and 600 Astron. Those Japan figures are portions of the worldwide totals. Limited-edition quantities do not establish whether a watch is currently available at a particular retailer.
