The Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 in 35mm is a compact Swiss automatic with an 80-hour power reserve, 100m water resistance and an integrated steel bracelet. It is not the same watch as Tissot’s 35mm quartz PRX. The black-dial reference T137.207.11.051.00 is one example in a range of dial and finish options.
This is a specification-led buying guide, not a first-hand test. Fit and bracelet comments below are attributed to the reviewers who handled the watch.
What is the 35mm PRX automatic?
It is the 35mm Tissot PRX fitted with the Powermatic 80 automatic movement. A 35mm case alone does not identify this model: Tissot also sells 35mm quartz PRX watches. Check the movement and reference before buying. Tissot’s US example discussed here is the black-dial T137.207.11.051.00.
Tissot traces the PRX design to 1978. Its US product page listed 60 variations when accessed on October 4, 2026; that is a changeable site count, not a promise that every dial or finish is available at all times.

Tissot describes the movement’s reserve this way: “The Powermatic 80 movement boasts 80 hours of power reserve, which is enough to continue telling time accurately even if the watch is not worn for three days.” That is the manufacturer’s product description, not an independent accuracy test. How does the 35mm size wear?
Nominal case diameter is only one part of fit. Lug-to-lug length and the shape of the bracelet’s first links can affect how long a watch appears on the wrist. Reviewers’ measurements also differ from Tissot’s listed case height, so treat them as measurements of their reviewed examples rather than replacements for the brand’s specification.
Fratello’s 2023 fit notes
Thomas Van Straaten reported a 39mm lug-to-lug measurement and 11.3mm thickness for the version he reviewed, compared with Tissot’s 10.93mm case-height listing for the cited black reference. He found it comfortable, but heavier and thicker than the 35mm quartz PRX. He also regarded sizing as a matter of taste and recommended trying the available sizes rather than choosing by gender. Fratello’s hands-on review, September 5, 2023.

Hodinkee’s 2023 fit and bracelet notes
Hodinkee’s reviewer considered how the fixed first bracelet link affects perceived length, and discussed the bracelet fit, clasp and lack of micro-adjustment on the author’s 16cm wrist. Those are observations about that reviewer’s experience, not a universal comfort verdict. Hodinkee’s 2023 hands-on review.
What are the bracelet trade-offs?
The integrated steel bracelet is central to the PRX’s look, while Tissot also lists it as interchangeable through a quick-release system. Fratello’s reviewer found the release mechanism fiddly to reach on the smaller version. That does not establish that every owner will find it difficult, but it is worth considering if you expect to swap bracelets or straps frequently. Confirm that any alternative strap fits the exact reference; third-party compatibility is not established here.

Fratello describes the bracelet as a one-link construction with a butterfly clasp and quick-release mechanism. Hodinkee separately discusses clasp feel and fit, including the absence of micro-adjustment in the reviewed setup. Neither reviewer’s handling is a substitute for trying the bracelet on your own wrist.

- Automatic or quartz: Choose the Powermatic 80 if you want the automatic movement and its stated 80-hour reserve. Verify that the listing says Powermatic 80; the 35mm quartz PRX is a separate model.
- 35mm or larger: Use diameter alongside lug-to-lug dimensions and bracelet end-link shape. If possible, try the sizes, since reviewers describe fit as personal.
- Dial and finish: Fratello’s 2023 coverage identifies black, blue, green and white mother-of-pearl dials in the 35mm automatic range. Tissot’s current selection can change, and materials, finishes and prices may vary between references.
- Bracelet or strap: The cited black reference comes on a steel quick-release bracelet. Tissot lists compatible alternate straps, but check compatibility with the specific watch before ordering.
Is the PRX Powermatic 80 35mm worth considering?
It is a compelling option to investigate if you want a compact integrated-bracelet automatic with a long stated power reserve and substantial water-resistance rating. The main buying uncertainty is personal fit: the smaller diameter does not guarantee that the bracelet’s shape or clasp will suit your wrist. Compare it in person with other PRX sizes when practical, and confirm the exact movement, dial, reference and current price before purchasing.
For the black-dial example, Tissot’s US product page showed $795 at access on October 4, 2026. That price is a dated listing, not a guarantee of current price, stock or availability in other regions. Check Tissot’s listing for the black-dial reference.
