Le Temps Divin (“Divine Time”) is Vacheron Constantin’s 2024 Les Cabinotiers Métiers d’Art series: nine one-of-one watches interpreting cyclical, physical and metaphysical time through three cultural lenses. Four watches draw on East Asian seasonal guardians, two turn to Greek mythology and a bi-axial armillary tourbillon, and three depict Japanese Shinto deities through engraving, enamel and miniature painting. Their movements range from an automatic tourbillon to a complex manual calibre and restrained time-only displays.
What is the Le Temps Divin collection?
Le Temps Divin means “Divine Time.” The series explores how time can be understood as a cycle, a physical passage or a metaphysical idea, using mythological figures and cultural traditions as its visual language. Vacheron Constantin presented it in 2024 as nine unique Les Cabinotiers creations, divided into three chapters rather than as serial-production models. Four Guardians: seasonal creatures in wood marquetry
The Four Guardians chapter links four mythic creatures to the seasons: the Azure Dragon to spring, the Vermilion Bird to summer, the White Tiger to autumn and the Black Tortoise to winter. Each dial renders its creature as an image assembled from small pieces of wood. Vacheron Constantin says the compositions use hundreds of slivers of precious woods. In its 2024 account of the craft, SJX Watches reports that a typical dial uses about 200 pieces across 10–12 wood types, with each piece around 0.4 mm thick; named examples include sycamore, padauk, hornbeam, eucalyptus, maple, oak and walnut. These piece counts and material details are SJX’s reported figures, not a specification stated by the manufacture. Vacheron Constantin; SJX Watches.

The brand gives Calibre 2160’s height as 5.65 mm and its power reserve as 80 hours; the 5.65 mm figure is movement height, not case thickness. The calibre is an automatic tourbillon movement, with the tourbillon positioned at 6 o’clock in these watches. Greek mythology: Chronos and the armillary tourbillon
The Greek chapter consists of two 45 mm watches whose double retrograde display and multi-axis tourbillon make the passage of time part of the mechanical design. Both use hand-engraved gold cases and manual Calibre 1990. Vacheron Constantin describes the calibre as having instantaneous bi-retrograde time indications, a bi-axial armillary tourbillon with a spherical balance-spring, and four patents. Two interpretations, two engraved cases
- Ode to “Chronos” Armillary Tourbillon, 9890C/000R-202C: pink-gold case, 45 × 20.10 mm, with engraving inspired by classical Greek friezes according to SJX Watches. Its manual Calibre 1990 runs at 2.5 Hz and provides a 60-hour reserve; the display includes retrograde hours and minutes, the armillary tourbillon and small seconds on the tourbillon.
- Ode to “Infinite Time” Armillary Tourbillon, 9890C/000G-151C: engraved case, 45 × 20.10 mm, with the blue version’s decoration drawing on the Pantheon in Rome according to SJX Watches. Its manual Calibre 1990 has the same reported 2.5 Hz frequency, 60-hour reserve and display arrangement.
SJX reports approximately 290 hours of engraving work for the Chronos case and 120 hours for the Infinite Time case. These are publication-reported work-hour figures, not independent measurements. SJX Watches.

Japanese mythology: three deities, time-only displays
The Japanese chapter depicts Izanagi, Konohanasakuya-hime and Amaterasu. The trio combines hand engraving, enamel and miniature painting, but its displays are deliberately simpler than the Greek watches: hours and minutes rather than a tourbillon or retrograde indication. How the collection’s three approaches to time differ
The three chapters are not simply three decorative treatments of one watch. Their mechanics reinforce distinct interpretations: the Four Guardians pair cyclical seasons with an automatic tourbillon; the Greek watches turn time into a complex display, with two retrograde indications and a bi-axial armillary tourbillon; the Japanese pieces foreground their deity portraits and handwork with time-only displays. That contrast is the clearest way to understand why the collection spans several case sizes and movements rather than repeating a single technical formula.

Price and availability
At launch in 2024, Monochrome reported that retail prices were “available on demand”; its report did not state a numeric price. The watches are one-of-one creations, but uniqueness does not establish whether a particular piece is currently available. Vacheron Constantin’s collection page provides contact and boutique appointment routes for enquiries. Richemont’s 2025 annual report says the Maison introduced a certified pre-owned programme for inspected and certified watches with a minimum two-year warranty, but it does not establish that any Le Temps Divin watch is included.
