Each was limited to 500 pieces. The choice is mainly between the Automatic’s simpler, smaller format and the Flyback’s oversized date and one-push reset-and-restart function; neither model’s current stock or price is established by its launch announcement.
What are the Zenith Pilot PORTER editions?
ZENITH and Japanese bag brand PORTER announced the watches on October 18, 2024. They are collaboration versions of the Pilot Automatic and Pilot Big Date Flyback, distinguished by khaki ceramic cases, orange details and PORTER-branded accessories. The partnership therefore goes beyond a co-branded dial: each watch was supplied with two straps, and the launch set included a PORTER-designed messenger bag sized to hold the watch box.
These are separate references, not two sizes of the same movement or complication package:

ZENITH’s October 18, 2024 launch release identifies the calibres and functions. Fratello reported additional case measurements and 100 m water resistance for both models; treat those as specialist-reported specifications and confirm them against the current technical sheet for the exact reference before relying on them for a purchase.

How do the two models differ in use?
PILOT Automatic PORTER Edition
The Automatic uses a 40 mm khaki ceramic case and the El Primero 3620, which ZENITH describes as a high-frequency manufacture movement with a 60-hour power reserve. It is the more straightforward of the pair: a three-hand watch without the Big Date Flyback’s chronograph and date mechanism.
PILOT Big Date Flyback PORTER Edition
The 42.5 mm Big Date Flyback combines an automatic chronograph with a large date display. A flyback chronograph can be reset to zero and restarted with one push, so a wearer can time consecutive events without first stopping the chronograph and then separately resetting and starting it. Fratello reported a 36,000-beats-per-hour frequency and 60-hour power reserve for the El Primero 3652; those figures are from its specialist report, while ZENITH’s release confirms the calibre and functions.

The Big Date’s two khaki date discs carry white numerals. ZENITH says its patented compliant mechanism advances and stabilizes both wheels in less than 0.03 seconds. That is the manufacturer’s stated performance for the date mechanism, not a general timing specification for the watch.
Case, dial and strap details
Both watches use khaki ceramic, but their presentation differs. The Automatic’s launch configuration pairs its khaki case and dial with orange accents, including details on the supplied nylon strap. On the Big Date Flyback, ZENITH calls out orange hands and alternating orange-and-white outlines on the 30-minute counter, intended to make the five-minute marks easier to distinguish. Its case is matte khaki ceramic, with black PVD pushers and crown.

Each PORTER edition came with two quick-release straps:
- A khaki PORTER nylon strap with orange Velcro elements and a stitched PORTER logo.
- A khaki Cordura-effect rubber strap; ZENITH specifies a black PVD steel folding buckle for the Automatic’s rubber strap.
The quick-release attachments allow strap changes without tools. The collaboration also included a khaki PORTER messenger bag with a Zenith-blue interior, designed to fit the watch box. The announcement describes these as items supplied with the editions; it does not establish that the straps or bag are sold separately.

How limited were they, and where were they sold?
ZENITH stated that each reference was limited to 500 pieces. Its launch announcement said the watches were available exclusively through ZENITH’s physical and online boutiques around the world. That is the stated 2024 launch channel, not confirmation that either model is currently in stock or still offered through those boutiques.
The current ZENITH Pilot collection page shows other Pilot Automatic and Big Date Flyback entries, but not the PORTER editions among its visible listings. That absence alone does not prove the PORTER watches have been discontinued or are unavailable. Ask ZENITH or an authorized retailer about the exact reference and your region.

What did they cost at launch?
Fratello reported launch prices on October 20, 2024 of €11,800 for the Automatic and €16,200 for the Big Date Flyback. These are historical reported launch prices, not current quotes. No current price or live inventory is established here; secondary-market prices and condition can vary by seller and listing.

Which PORTER edition fits you better?
- Choose the Automatic if: you want the smaller case of the two and a simpler three-hand layout with the El Primero 3620.
- Choose the Big Date Flyback if: you will use an automatic chronograph, value the oversized date, or want the flyback’s one-push reset-and-restart operation, and are comfortable with its larger case.
- Check carefully if buying now: verify the reference, seller authorization, condition, current asking price, and whether both straps and the messenger bag are included. The launch announcement does not establish present availability or what a particular pre-owned listing contains.
ZENITH’s January 2024 Pilot Boutique Editions had already paired an Automatic and a Big Date Flyback before the PORTER collaboration. Those earlier boutique models used blue dials and different straps; they are not the khaki-ceramic PORTER references.
