The 2020 Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41, reference 124300, is a 41 mm, time-only steel watch with Rolex’s calibre 3230. “Stella-inspired” is an informal nickname used in some coverage of colorful dial versions, not a designation in Rolex’s 2020 specifications. The key buying detail is to identify the exact dial: Rolex’s 2020 brochure lists silver and bright-black sunray dials for the 41 mm model, while its vivid lacquer colors appear under the separate 36 mm model.
What the 2020 Oyster Perpetual 41 is
Rolex’s 2020 brochure identifies the Oyster Perpetual 41 as reference 124300. It is a time-only watch: the listed functions are central hours, minutes and seconds, with no date function. The launch brochure specifies the Oystersteel case and bracelet, domed bezel, and 100 m (330 ft) water resistance. Rolex’s 2020 brochure is the primary source for the launch-era details.

The “Stella-inspired” wording should be read as editorial shorthand rather than Rolex nomenclature. In a first-person account of a green-dial 124300, WatchReviewBlog uses “Stella” and connects the nickname to colorful vintage Day-Date watches from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. That context belongs to the writer’s description; it is not an official dial name documented in the 2020 brochure. WatchReviewBlog’s hands-on account.

Which dials were documented for the 41 mm model?
The 2020 brochure’s Oyster Perpetual 41 entries specify silver sunray and bright-black sunray dials. It separately lists vivid lacquer colors for the Oyster Perpetual 36. That distinction matters when evaluating a listing: a bright color shown on an Oyster Perpetual 36 is not evidence that the same dial was offered on the 41 mm reference 124300. Confirm the reference and dial on the individual watch rather than assuming all colorful Oyster Perpetuals share the same size or specifications. Rolex’s 2020 brochure and Hodinkee’s 2020 launch coverage distinguish the 41 mm configurations.
What the hands-on account says—and what it cannot establish
WatchReviewBlog’s writer says they received and bought a green-dial 124300, describes its hue as pastel-like, and notes having a 6.5-inch wrist while expressing concern about oversized watches. Those are the impressions and circumstances of one owner, not a general fit verdict or a controlled review. Wrist shape, preferred fit and how a wearer likes a 41 mm watch are individual; the account cannot establish that the case will feel right on every wrist. Read the account.
124300 price: how to assess the pre-owned market
There is no verified universal current price for reference 124300 in the cited material. WatchGuys, a specialist retailer, says dial color affects value: standard dials may trade near or modestly above an approximately $7,000 last retail figure, while some discontinued colors can command larger premiums. Those are the retailer’s market characterizations, not a comprehensive set of verified completed sales or a guarantee of resale value. The available evidence does not support a reliable dial-by-dial average. WatchGuys’ review and value commentary.

For a meaningful comparison, match the details that can change both price and risk:
- Reference and dial: Verify that the watch is a 124300 and compare the same dial variant.
- Condition and service: Assess case, bracelet, dial and movement condition, and request service documentation where available.
- Box, papers and provenance: Establish what is included and whether the watch’s history is documented.
- Seller protections: Review authentication process, return terms and any warranty offered by the seller.
- Market and timing: Compare the same geographic market and transaction period; asking prices are not equivalent to completed-sale prices.
Rolex’s current US site lists the successor reference 134300, silver dial, at $7,050 USD. That is current US list pricing for a different reference, not the price of a 124300 and not a substitute for comparing pre-owned examples. WatchGuys says the 124300 was replaced by the 134300 in 2025. Rolex US’s 134300 page.

The 124300 is worth considering if you want a modern, 41 mm, no-date Oyster Perpetual with Rolex’s stated 3230 movement specifications and an Oyster bracelet. The dial is central to both its appearance and its secondhand-market comparison, so buyers drawn to “Stella-inspired” coverage should first verify the exact 124300 dial rather than relying on a nickname or color shown on a different size. Because this is a prior-generation reference, the practical purchase is a particular pre-owned watch from a particular seller—not an abstract model at one assured market price.
