Rolex raised list prices in several markets on January 1, 2022, with steel professional watches among the biggest movers. In the United States, the Submariner 124060 rose from $8,100 to $8,950, a reported 10.5% increase; that was much larger than the 3.4% average increase Professional Watches reported across U.S. Rolex retail prices. The figures below are historical suggested prices for specific markets and configurations—not current prices, secondary-market values, or proof of what a particular buyer paid.
How large was the 2022 Rolex price increase?
There was no single percentage that applied to every Rolex. Professional Watches reported an average 3.4% increase across U.S. retail prices on January 1, 2022, while its U.S. Submariner 124060 example rose 10.5%. Monochrome Watches’ French-market overview likewise described increases of roughly 10–11% for most steel professional models, compared with about 3–4% for steel Datejust and Oyster Perpetual models.
The gap matters: “Rolex prices rose 10%” is too broad. The reported increase depended on the watch, configuration and national price list. A steel Oyster Perpetual, for example, did not follow the same pattern as the professional Submariner.
2021 and 2022 list-price examples by market
These are reported historical retail-list comparisons. Figures are kept in their original currencies and markets; they should not be compared across countries as if they were one price list.

Bracelet and tax details change the comparison
In WatchTime’s German-market example, the GMT-Master II with an Oyster bracelet was €200 less than the Jubilee version. The table uses the Jubilee price, so it should not be read as a bracelet-neutral figure.

The January 2022 Italian Rolex price-list document gives VAT-inclusive suggested prices of €13,900 for the Daytona 116500LN and €8,550 for the Submariner 124060. It is a third-party-hosted copy of a Rolex document, and these Italian figures are not interchangeable with German or U.S. list prices: Italian January 2022 price list.
Which Rolex watches had the larger increases?
The reporting identifies steel professional watches as the standout category, including the Submariner, Daytona, GMT-Master II, Sea-Dweller, Deepsea, Explorer and Explorer II. In the specific German examples, increases ranged from 9.92% for the Explorer 124270 to 11.11% for the Jubilee GMT-Master II. The U.S. Submariner 124060 example rose 10.5%.

That pattern was not a rule for every steel Rolex. Professional Watches’ U.S. Oyster Perpetual 124300 example rose 4.2%, and Monochrome’s French-market overview put steel Datejust and Oyster Perpetual increases at about 3–4%. Why did Rolex raise prices in 2022?
Monochrome discussed inflation, higher input costs, wages, worker shortages, supply constraints and strong demand as possible context for the increases. Those are the publisher’s analysis, not a documented Rolex explanation for the specific adjustment. The reviewed sources do not establish an official Rolex rationale or an attributable explanation from a named company representative.

Would a buyer on a waitlist pay the new price at delivery?
A January 2022 reader discussion used the phrase “New 2022 Prices are up” and asked whether a waitlisted buyer whose watch arrived the following year would pay the newer price. That forum thread is useful evidence of the question buyers were asking, but it does not establish Rolex or authorized-dealer policy: January 2022 r/rolex discussion.
The cited price reports show list prices at particular dates; they do not document a universal rule for how a later delivery was priced. A historical list figure alone cannot establish what an individual customer was charged. For a real order, the relevant information would be the dealer’s quoted price and the terms communicated for that specific purchase.

What these historical prices do—and do not—tell you
- They show reported suggested retail prices for named references, markets and dates in 2021 and 2022.
- They do not give a current Rolex retail price or a current secondary-market valuation.
- They do not show that a watch was available to buy at the listed price, or what any specific buyer paid.
- They should be read with their country, currency, bracelet and tax basis intact.
