Lange & Söhne Lange 1 Time Zone pairs home time with a selectable second time zone, an outsize date and a power-reserve display. Introduced in June 2020, it uses the hand-wound manufacture calibre L141.1, which runs at 3 Hz and provides a 72-hour reserve. This is a technical review based on the manufacturer’s specifications and setting instructions, not a hands-on wear or accuracy test.
How the Lange 1 Time Zone works
The watch shows two times at once: the main dial displays home time, while the smaller subsidiary dial displays the selected zone time. A switchable ring marked with 24 reference cities lets the wearer choose the second time zone. The asymmetric dial also includes the Lange outsize date and a power-reserve indicator. A. Lange & Söhne describes the arrangement as showing home time and another time zone at a glance (manufacturer press release, 25 June 2020).
Day and night are indicated by ring-shaped displays. An applied gold arrow marks whether the selected city is observing daylight-saving time. The city ring, day/night indicators and daylight-saving marker help interpret the zone-time hand; they do not change the fact that the main dial is the home-time display.
Calibre L141.1 specifications
The 2020 second generation introduced calibre L141.1, a manually wound movement with a single mainspring barrel. Manufacturer specifications give it a 72-hour power reserve and a frequency of 21,600 semi-oscillations per hour, or 3 Hz. The current official product listing for reference 136.029 specifies 448 movement parts; that parts count is tied to that reference listing rather than a general performance measure.

- Place the crown in its second position. The manufacturer states that both time displays can then be adjusted synchronously.
- To set a new main time while keeping the zone-time hour hand in place, press and hold the button for setting the second time zone during the time-setting operation.
- Check the outsize date against the main time. The date is linked to main time and may need correction using the pusher at 10 o’clock.
These are the steps stated in the manufacturer’s release; it does not provide further instructions here for selecting a city or adjusting the daylight-saving indication.
