The Chronoswiss Open Gear ReSec Jungle, reference CH-6923-DGRBK, is a 50-piece limited edition whose defining feature is its layered green dial. Hand-applied moiré guilloché radiates from the centre beneath a green CVD coating that shifts in changing light, while black-finished components and luminous indices add contrast. The details and launch price below were reported in 2021; they do not establish current availability or pricing.
Why the Jungle dial stands out
The dial’s pattern begins at the centre and spreads outward in a hand-applied moiré guilloché finish. A special green CVD coating changes its appearance as the light moves across it. Robin Nooy’s 2021 Monochrome Watches article likened the effect to looking up through a palm canopy; that is a visual impression, not a technical description of the finish. The dial assembly is reported to contain 42 components.
Above the patterned surface, the open-gear construction exposes upper-level components finished in galvanic black. Luminous indices provide contrast around the dial. Together, the green, black and exposed layers make the changing surface the watch’s visual centrepiece rather than a simple coloured face.
How to read the regulator display
This is a regulator-style layout: minutes occupy the central position, hours appear on a smaller display above, and seconds are shown on a retrograde scale at six o’clock. The hour and minute hands are described as Trigono-shaped. In a retrograde display, the seconds indication travels across its arc and returns to the start rather than making a full circuit of the dial.

Nooy explains the regulator format through its historical use in master clocks in workshops or observatories, where separating the indications helped make the time easier to read precisely. As he puts it, “A regulator watch puts the emphasis on the minutes and positions them in the centre of the dial.”
Case, movement and strap
Monochrome Watches reported a stainless-steel case measuring 44 mm across and 13.35 mm thick. Its details include a knurled bezel, an onion-shaped crown, alternating brushed and polished surfaces, and a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. The reported water-resistance rating is 100 m.

Inside is Chronoswiss calibre C.301, an automatic movement based on ETA 2895 and topped with an in-house module for the regulator and retrograde indications. The 2021 article lists 33 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), and up to 42 hours of power reserve.
The described strap is hand-sewn black Cordura with a steel pin buckle. The cited article does not give strap width or attachment measurements, so those details should be confirmed before choosing a replacement.
