Airain’s Sous-Marine re-edition brings back the dive watch the brand says it launched in 1962, pairing its signature Parmentier crown with a 200 m water-resistance rating and an automatic movement with a 68-hour power reserve. Airain currently lists the watch at €2,050; the €1,550 figure reported at launch was an initial preorder price, not today’s offer.
What is the Airain Sous-Marine?
Airain presents the Sous-Marine as a modern re-edition of its 1962 dive watch. The brand identifies the Parmentier crown as a defining feature: its account says Jean-René Parmentier developed the crown in 1962 with a protective cap and integrated seal, and that the feature has been recreated for this model. These historical details are Airain’s account of the watch’s origins.
The current model combines vintage-inspired styling with a brushed 316L stainless-steel case, sapphire crystal and a modern automatic movement. The specifications and water-resistance rating below are published by Airain; they are not independent test results.

The published dimensions give a useful starting point for assessing fit: the 37.5 mm case diameter is relatively compact on paper, while the 48.2 mm lug-to-lug measurement is also relevant to how the watch may sit across a wrist. The thickness figures are inconsistent on Airain’s page, so compare the measurements cautiously rather than treating one as definitive.

The 200 m rating is a manufacturer-stated specification, not evidence of independent testing. This article does not report hands-on wear, accuracy, water-resistance or dive testing.
Which Sous-Marine versions are available?
Airain’s collection includes the standard Re-Edition DNA Strand and Lollipop models, alongside four limited-edition designs: Deep Blue, Faded Black, Ocean Green and Tropical. The limited editions emerged from the brand’s CoLAB community-design initiative. Airain’s product pages show differences in dial color, luminous material, hands and strap color; the visual configuration varies by model.

Airain’s official pages currently list the collection at €2,050. Monochrome Watches reported a €1,550 price for all models during the initial preorder phase scheduled to begin December 16 at 10 a.m. CET. That was a historical launch offer, not a current price. Because prices and availability can change, confirm the amount and stock status with Airain before buying.

What comes with the watch?
Airain lists both a black tropic-style FKM rubber strap and a 20 mm FixoFlex stainless-steel bracelet as included. A third-party strap is therefore an optional preference rather than a necessary extra. If you choose another 20 mm strap, check its fit and spring-bar compatibility before ordering.
