The Albishorn Type 10 Officer is a hand-wound, COSC-certified monopusher chronograph presented in a cream-dial version. Its 39 mm steel case, off-center subdials and chronograph indicator at 12 o’clock set it apart; its French Army backstory is explicitly imagined, not documented history. Albishorn lists the 99-piece edition at CHF 3,950.
What is the Albishorn Type 10 Officer?
It is Albishorn’s manually wound monopusher chronograph, built around an asymmetrical, instrument-like dial. The brand describes the Type 10 as an “imaginary ancestor” to the Type 20: a hypothetical French Army chronograph that could have been commissioned in 1948. That is alternate-history design storytelling, not evidence of an actual military contract or issued watch. Albishorn’s product page uses conditional language, and Monochrome’s launch coverage also identifies the concept as imaginary.
The “Officer” design combines conventional timekeeping with a central chronograph seconds hand, a separate 30-minute counter and an unusual display showing the chronograph’s operating state. This cream-dial version changes the watch’s appearance while retaining that layout and the listed Type 10 specifications.
What changed with the cream dial?
The dial is textured cream, with black Super-LumiNova figures. The hands are black-painted and filled with beige Super-LumiNova, giving the luminous material a warmer contrast against the dial. Albishorn also pairs the watch with a black leather strap and a beige leather strap, both listed as included.

The bezel is a separate, bidirectional DLC-coated steel component with a 60-unit scale and beige Super-LumiNova indexes. Its dark finish contrasts with the lighter dial and steel case; the cream treatment does not mean the entire watch is light-colored.
How does the chronograph layout work?
The Type 10 uses one pusher to operate the chronograph. Albishorn says its proprietary ALB02 M movement was developed to support the dial arrangement. The placement separates elapsed time and running time rather than arranging the counters symmetrically:

- At 7:30: the chronograph’s 30-minute counter.
- At the center: the chronograph seconds hand, which tracks elapsed seconds.
The indicator is described by the manufacturer as patented; a patent document was not available in the cited coverage. The result is a dashboard-like display that is less conventional than a balanced pair of subdials, but makes the chronograph’s state a distinct part of the dial.
What movement is in the Type 10 Officer?
Albishorn specifies its proprietary ALB02 M, a manually wound monopusher chronograph movement. The manufacturer lists COSC certification, a typical 65-hour power reserve, 4 Hz operating frequency, 21 jewels, a 30 mm diameter and a 5.70 mm height. The certification and reserve figures are manufacturer-stated specifications; the cited sources do not include a COSC certificate record.

The watch also has a stop-seconds device, allowing the seconds hand to stop when setting the time. The combination of hand-winding and a monopusher control is central to the Type 10’s operation; it is not an automatic chronograph.

Case dimensions are useful fit checks, but they cannot determine how the watch will wear on every wrist. The 47.7 mm lug-to-lug measurement and 12 mm thickness are worth considering alongside the 39 mm diameter, particularly if a low-profile watch is a priority. The 100 m water-resistance rating is the manufacturer’s specification; the sources do not provide additional use or maintenance guidance.

How much does the Albishorn Type 10 Officer cost?
Albishorn’s product page lists the watch at CHF 3,950 and limits the edition to 99 pieces. Monochrome reports the CHF 3,950 price excluding taxes and says production is spread over three years. The cited sources do not establish a current stock count, remaining allocation or delivery estimate, so launch information should not be treated as confirmation that a piece is presently available.
The official listing includes both beige and black leather straps. Albishorn specifies a 20 mm lug width, which is also the relevant measurement when considering a replacement strap; compatibility of any particular strap or buckle is not established here.

Is the Type 10 a real French Army watch?
No documented French Army issue or 1948 commission is established by the cited sources. Albishorn presents that origin as a hypothetical premise, describing the Type 10 as a watch that could have been commissioned and as an imagined predecessor to the Type 20. The distinction matters: the watch draws on a fictionalized historical scenario, rather than claiming verified military provenance.
