Amazfit lists both sizes with AMOLED displays, sapphire glass, and a grade-5 titanium bezel. Its product page rates peak brightness at up to 3,000 nits. These are specifications, not independent tests of sunlight readability or durability. Case fit and comfort matter too: a 48mm rugged watch may feel bulky on a smaller wrist or during sleep.
Garmin’s fēnix 8 also includes a built-in LED flashlight, speaker, and microphone. The T-Rex 3 Pro supports Bluetooth calls and texts through a paired phone, according to Amazfit. Neither watch’s paired-phone calling support should be mistaken for independent cellular service.
Battery life: compare claims with conditions
Amazfit states up to 25 days of typical use for the 48mm T-Rex 3 Pro and up to 17 days for the 44mm. These are manufacturer estimates, not guaranteed results. To assess battery in your own use, record the configuration and settings and follow these steps:
- Note the watch size, firmware, display mode, health tracking, and notification settings.
- Record battery level at consistent daily checkpoints and after longer GPS activities.
- Log GPS mode, activity duration, maps, calls, music, flashlight, and connected sensors.
- Compare the results only with a watch tested under a similar workload.
GPS and maps: feature parity is not experience parity
Amazfit lists six-satellite-system positioning, offline maps, and route planning for the T-Rex 3 Pro. Amazfit emphasizes a broad range of sports modes; its product page and TechRadar describe more than 180. Mode count does not show how much useful data or analysis each activity profile provides. Garmin documents training readiness and status, endurance and hill scores, VO₂ max, PacePro, ClimbPro, adaptive suggested workouts, and Garmin Coach. Both watches advertise dive functionality, but their stated maximum depths are not a complete comparison of dive-computer features.
