Apple announced Series 10 on September 9, 2024, and said availability would begin September 20. Apple’s U.S. starting price at launch was $399. That is historical launch pricing, not a quote for what the watch costs now.
This research did not verify current retail prices, stock, or whether Apple still sells Series 10. Before buying, check a live listing and compare the exact size, case material, GPS or Cellular configuration, and condition. Do not assume that a listed price applies to every configuration.

Sizes, colors, and materials
The mainline Series 10 came in 42mm and 46mm case sizes. Aluminum finishes were jet black, rose gold, and silver; titanium finishes were natural, gold, and slate.

Design and display
Apple said Series 10 is nearly 10 percent thinner than Series 7, Series 8, and Series 9. Apple also said its active display area is up to 9 percent larger than those models and that the display is up to 40 percent brighter than Series 9 when viewed at an angle. Independent reviews highlighted the larger display and slimmer design as the main upgrades. WIRED also called attention to the large display on the 46mm model. The practical choice between 42mm and 46mm depends on the display and case size you prefer; the dossier does not establish one size as best for every wrist.
Features and everyday use
Apple’s launch announcement highlighted sleep-apnea notifications, faster charging, and water depth and temperature sensing among Series 10’s changes. Treat sleep-apnea notifications as notifications, not a diagnosis. Check Apple’s current feature limitations and regional availability before relying on a health feature or buying a watch from another market.
Apple described Series 10 as maintaining all-day 18-hour battery life. TechRadar’s September 2024 review identified battery life as a downside after the reviewer wore the watch for a week and tested battery life over several days. WIRED likewise said there was no battery improvement. These are the publications’ review findings; no hands-on testing was conducted for this article.

Taken together, the strongest case for Series 10 is its larger display in a thinner design, plus the new water-sensing and sleep-apnea notification features. The recurring caveat is its 18-hour rated battery life and the lack of a battery improvement noted by reviewers.
Band compatibility
Apple stated that older 41mm bands are compatible with the new 42mm cases, and older 45mm bands with the 46mm cases. Apple also said new 42mm and 46mm bands fit older Apple Watch models. Confirm the precise band and case-size fit before ordering, especially when choosing a third-party band.
