It combines the familiar extra-thin Jumbo profile and integrated bracelet with a dial that changes dramatically in different light. This is a review of a discontinued historical reference: Audemars Piguet says the 15202 was replaced by the 16202 in 2022.
What is the Royal Oak Jumbo 15202PT?
The 15202PT.OO.1240PT.01 is the platinum, green-dial version of Audemars Piguet’s 39 mm Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra-Thin. AP’s Heritage chronology places the 15202 lineage in 2000 and records the green-dial platinum 15202PT in 2021. The reference was part of the 15202 family until its replacement by the 16202 in 2022, according to Audemars Piguet’s Heritage chronology.
That distinction matters when searching listings or comparing specifications: the 15202PT is not the successor 16202PT, even though both are platinum Royal Oak Jumbos with smoked-green sunburst dials. The official 15202PT product page identifies the exact reference reviewed here.
How does the platinum case and green dial look?
Platinum, from case to bracelet
The watch uses 950 platinum for its case and integrated bracelet. That gives the familiar angular Royal Oak case and bracelet a precious-metal execution rather than the steel construction associated with many 15202 examples. Christie’s cataloguing of a separate 15202PT describes a 39 mm 950-platinum case, display back and platinum bracelet; those details identify that catalogued example rather than guarantee the condition or contents of every watch offered for sale.

A smooth dial rather than Petite Tapisserie
The dial is the most immediately distinctive visual departure. Instead of the raised Petite Tapisserie pattern commonly associated with other Royal Oak models, this 15202PT has a smooth smoked-green surface with a sunburst finish. As light moves across it, the green can appear vivid and saturated, then deepen toward near-black in dimmer or different lighting, as reported by Monochrome Watches in its March 2021 launch coverage.
The effect is restrained rather than overtly decorative: the sunray finish supplies movement and changing tone, while the absence of Petite Tapisserie leaves the dial visually cleaner. Buyers who value the classic patterned Royal Oak dial should treat this as a different expression of the design, not simply the same texture in another color.

What are the 15202PT’s dimensions and water resistance?
Monochrome’s March 2021 launch report gives the 15202PT a 39 mm case diameter, 8.1 mm thickness and 50 m water resistance. These are reference specifications; the water-resistance figure alone does not establish suitability for a particular activity, and an older individual watch’s condition may affect its present water resistance.
What movement powers the watch?
The 15202PT is powered by Audemars Piguet’s self-winding calibre 2121. Monochrome reports 36 jewels, 247 parts, a frequency of 19,800 vibrations per hour (2.75 Hz), and a 40-hour power reserve. Phillips also identifies calibre 2121 in its catalogue of a 15202PT example.

The successor 16202PT should not be confused with this specification: AP’s Heritage chronology says the 16202 replaced the 15202, and the successor uses calibre 7121 rather than calibre 2121. The 7121 specification belongs to the later reference, not the 15202PT reviewed here.
How much did the 15202PT cost, and what do past sales tell you?
Price figures for this discontinued reference are historical and not directly comparable. Monochrome reported a March 2021 launch price of CHF 90,150 excluding taxes. Phillips records one 2021 example sold for $277,200 at its 2022 New York Watch Auction: SEVEN. That single auction result reflects one lot and sale date; it does not establish the watch’s current market value.

The Phillips lot was catalogued with a warranty card and presentation box, but included items vary by individual listing. A buyer evaluating a pre-owned example should assess its condition, provenance, documentation, bracelet fit and service history. Auction descriptions can help establish what was offered in a specific sale, but neither the Phillips nor Christie’s catalogue is a comprehensive authentication or servicing protocol.

No current availability is established by the historical product and auction records cited here. AP’s Heritage chronology records the 15202’s replacement by the 16202 in 2022, so the 15202PT should be approached as a discontinued reference rather than assumed to be an in-production model. This reference makes the most sense for a collector drawn to the Jumbo’s compact, extra-thin Royal Oak proportions who wants platinum construction and a less patterned dial. Its green sunburst surface changes character with the light, and its smooth finish sets it apart from the Petite Tapisserie look many buyers associate with the collection.
It is less compelling for someone specifically seeking the classic textured Royal Oak dial, a new watch directly from AP, or a price benchmark that can be inferred from one past sale. Since the watch is now a historical reference, the individual example—its condition, papers, provenance and bracelet—matters as much as the reference name.
