Benrus brought back its Sea Lord diver in 2022 with two vintage-inspired versions: a black-dial model on a rubber strap and a green-dial model on a steel bracelet. Launch coverage listed a 39 mm steel case, ceramic-insert dive bezel, 30 ATM water resistance and an automatic Soprod P024 movement. The launch prices were $995 and $1,095, respectively; those are historical prices, not verified current offers.
What the 2022 Sea Lord revival represented
Benrus announced the Sea Lord revival in November 2022 as a return to a historical design. The Sea Lord was a civilian watch line, not a military-issued model, though Benrus drew on the rugged design language associated with its military watches. The historical collection included both dive watches and dress-oriented pieces; the revival focused on a diver described in the launch announcement as especially rare and sought after. Europa Star’s November 2022 publication of Benrus’s announcement and Worn & Wound’s September 30, 2022 launch report provide the contemporaneous context.
Benrus COO Michael Goeller said the company wanted to bring back a Sea Lord design he considered original to Benrus and introduce it to a new generation. The statement appears in the brand announcement carried by Europa Star.

Is the Benrus Sea Lord still available?
Current availability is not established by the launch reports. A Watches & Crystals listing for the green Sea Lord displays “Sold out,” but one retailer’s status does not show whether another seller has stock. Benrus’s official Ultra-Deep page is for a separate watch and does not confirm Sea Lord stock or pricing. Check a seller’s live listing before treating any price or availability as current.

How the Sea Lord differs from Benrus’s Ultra-Deep
The Ultra-Deep is a useful point of comparison, but it is not another Sea Lord variant. Benrus’s official product page lists the Ultra-Deep with the same Soprod P024 movement and 38-hour power reserve as reported for the Sea Lord. Its construction and layout differ:
| Feature | Sea Lord, 2022 launch coverage | Ultra-Deep, official product page |
|---|---|---|
| Case size | 39 mm | 36.5 mm |
| Design and bezel | Unidirectional external dive bezel with ceramic insert | Twin-crown super-compressor design with internal rotating bezel |
| Crystal | Sapphire | Acrylic |
| Water resistance | 30 ATM | 20 ATM |
| Movement and reserve | Soprod P024 automatic; 38 hours | Soprod P024; 38 hours |
The Sea Lord’s external bezel and higher stated water-resistance rating distinguish its launch specification from the Ultra-Deep’s compressor-style arrangement. The figures describe the respective sources’ listed specifications, not an independent performance test.
