The Garmin Enduro 3 is the best smartwatch for battery life in 2025 if minimizing charging is your top priority. It is rated for up to 36 days in smartwatch mode, or up to 90 days with solar under Garmin’s specified light conditions. The COROS VERTIX 2S is the better specialist option for long GPS activities, while the Amazfit Balance 2 offers the strongest everyday battery balance for buyers who want an AMOLED-style smartwatch.
Best overall: the Garmin Enduro 3 is the strongest smartwatch for battery life in 2025 if your priority is going as long as possible between charges. Garmin rates it for up to 36 days in smartwatch mode, or up to 90 days with solar under specific light-exposure assumptions. It also reaches up to 120 hours of GPS-only use, or up to 320 hours with solar under specified outdoor conditions.
For long GPS activities rather than everyday use, the COROS VERTIX 2S is the more specialized choice, with up to 118 hours of standard full-GPS use. If you want a more conventional AMOLED smartwatch with multi-week everyday endurance, choose the Amazfit Balance 2. The HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro is the better slimmer, lifestyle-oriented option, while the Google Pixel Watch 4 is worth considering for Google and Wear OS integration—not for multi-week battery life.
Important: all figures below are manufacturer estimates or manufacturer-defined test results, not independent test results or guarantees. Actual endurance changes with GPS mode, display settings, always-on display, sensors, notifications, phone connectivity, music and calls, workout frequency, temperature, and software configuration.
Quick comparison
| Watch | Best for | Everyday estimate | Demanding-use estimate | Main caveat |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Garmin Enduro 3 | Fewest charges and long outdoor adventures | Up to 36 days; up to 90 days with solar | GPS-only: up to 120 hours; up to 320 hours with solar | Large, specialized design; solar figures require specific outdoor light |
| COROS VERTIX 2S | Ultramarathons, expeditions, and long GPS tracking | Up to 40 days | Standard full GPS: up to 118 hours | Its strengths favor endurance athletes and expedition users over casual smartwatch buyers |
| Amazfit Balance 2 | AMOLED-style smartwatch with long everyday life | Up to 21 days typical; up to 10 days heavy use | Accurate GPS: up to 33 hours; power-saving GPS: up to 67 hours | Typical-use ceiling is not the same as heavy-use or GPS endurance |
| HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro | Slimmer, lifestyle-focused multi-day use | Up to 7 days typical; up to 10 days maximum | Up to 4 days with always-on display enabled | Regional app, health, payment, and notification support can vary |
| Google Pixel Watch 4 | Google ecosystem and Wear OS integration | 45mm: up to 40 hours with always-on display; 41mm: up to 30 hours | 45mm: up to 72 hours in Battery Saver | Battery Saver changes normal feature behavior; this is not a multi-week watch |
These figures should not be treated as one universal ranking. A 21-day typical-use claim measures a different workload from 118 hours of continuous full-GPS tracking, and a Battery Saver estimate does not represent the same experience as normal smartwatch operation.
1. Best overall for battery life: Garmin Enduro 3 GPS smartwatch
The Garmin Enduro 3 GPS smartwatch is the right choice for readers who regard charging as the main problem to solve. Its combination of long smartwatch-mode endurance, solar-assisted estimates, and high GPS capacity gives it the broadest battery-life advantage in this group.
#1 Best Overall
- Designed for ultra-endurance athletes, with a lightweight design weighing just 63 g to help improve performance
- Take on the elements with a titanium bezel, scratch-resistant sapphire lens and built-in LED flashlight to light up the dark; UltraFit nylon band provides long-distance comfort - even in punishing conditions
- Up to 90 days of battery life in smartwatch mode (assumes all-day wear with 3 hours per day outside in 50,000 lux conditions) and 320 hours in GPS mode with solar charging (assumes continuous use for entire period in 50,000 lux conditions) - all with an always-on display, so you’re ready to take on the toughest challenges
- Preloaded TopoActive maps are optimized for outdoor activities to help keep your adventures on track
- Dynamic round-trip routing allows you to set a target destination for your run, bike or hike; Enduro 3 will continually adjust the route to get you back home on schedule
- Smartwatch mode: up to 36 days.
- Solar smartwatch mode: up to 90 days under Garmin’s stated conditions.
- GPS-only mode: up to 120 hours.
- Solar GPS-only mode: up to 320 hours under specified outdoor conditions.
The solar numbers need careful interpretation. Garmin’s 90-day smartwatch-mode estimate assumes all-day wear plus three hours outdoors per day at 50,000 lux. The solar GPS figures likewise depend on outdoor light conditions. Solar can extend endurance, but it is not a universal promise that the watch will never need charging, particularly for people who spend most of their time indoors, exercise at night, or use demanding settings.
Who should buy it: hikers, backpackers, ultra-distance athletes, frequent travelers, and anyone who wants the longest possible gap between charges.
Who should skip it: buyers who want a compact, everyday fashion-oriented watch or who value app and smartwatch convenience above extreme endurance. The Enduro 3 is a large, purpose-built outdoor watch, so its battery advantage comes with a more specialized design.
Accessory note: Garmin identifies compatibility with 26 mm QuickFit bands, which creates a useful way to change the fit or appearance without giving up the watch’s core endurance.
2. Best for ultramarathons and expeditions: COROS VERTIX 2S
The COROS VERTIX 2S is the specialist pick when “good battery life” means keeping GPS tracking running through an ultra, multi-day trek, expedition, or remote trip. COROS lists up to 40 days of daily use and up to 118 hours of standard full-GPS use.
The 118-hour figure is particularly relevant because it represents nearly five days of continuous standard full-GPS tracking. That is a different and more useful metric for an expedition user than a smartwatch-mode number that assumes intermittent daily activity.

COROS lists a scratch-resistant sapphire screen, a titanium bezel, and 10 ATM water resistance. Those specifications support the VERTIX 2S’s outdoor positioning, although rugged construction does not make it the best fit for every wrist or every lifestyle.
Who should buy it: ultramarathon runners, expedition travelers, serious hikers, and anyone whose primary battery concern is uninterrupted GPS tracking.
Who should skip it: buyers mainly looking for a bright lifestyle smartwatch, a small case, or a phone-like app ecosystem. Its strongest advantage is endurance-focused GPS use, not simply owning a watch that lasts longer than a day.
3. Best AMOLED balance: Amazfit Balance 2
The Amazfit Balance 2 is the most approachable option here for someone who wants a bright AMOLED-style smartwatch without accepting nightly charging. Amazfit lists up to 21 days under typical use and up to 10 days under heavy use.

Go beyond your goals with a watch designed to endure the most extreme tests.
Amazfit’s typical-use scenario is more informative than the headline alone. It includes continuous heart-rate monitoring, sleep tracking, weekly GPS exercise, notifications, music, and occasional calls. That makes the 21-day figure a defined estimate rather than a completely unexplained laboratory number—but it still should be treated as an upper-end manufacturer claim, not a guarantee for every owner.
- Typical use: up to 21 days.
- Heavy use: up to 10 days.
- Accurate GPS: up to 33 hours.
- Power-saving GPS: up to 67 hours.
The gap between 21 days of typical use and 33 hours of accurate GPS illustrates why battery claims need context. Frequent outdoor workouts, continuous sensor use, a bright display, calls, and music can move the Balance 2 much closer to its heavy-use or GPS figures.
Who should buy it: buyers who want a conventional, display-focused smartwatch and multi-week everyday endurance without choosing an expedition-sized GPS watch.
Who should skip it: athletes who need the longest possible continuous full-GPS session. The Enduro 3 and VERTIX 2S are more compelling for that specific job.
4. Best slimmer multi-day option: HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro
The HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro is a better match for readers who want to move well beyond one-day charging but do not want an expedition-oriented design. Huawei lists up to 10 days maximum, 7 days of typical use, and 4 days with the always-on display enabled.
For comparisons, use the 7-day typical figure rather than the 10-day maximum. The typical number is a more useful expectation for ordinary ownership, while the always-on-display figure shows how much display behavior can affect endurance.
The watch supports Android 8.0 or later and iOS 13.0 or later through Huawei Health. That makes it more broadly compatible than a watch tied to one phone brand, but compatibility on paper does not guarantee identical features everywhere. Check local availability of the Huawei Health app and confirm the health, payment, notification, and other features you actually need before buying.
- Maximum estimate: up to 10 days.
- Typical estimate: up to 7 days.
- Always-on display enabled: up to 4 days.
Who should buy it: people who prefer a slimmer lifestyle watch and want several days of endurance, especially if they are comfortable checking regional software and feature support first.

5. Best for Google users, not battery life: Google Pixel Watch 4
The Google Pixel Watch 4 45mm belongs in this comparison because it is a major ecosystem choice, but it is not a battery-life winner. Google rates the 45mm model for up to 40 hours with the always-on display enabled and the 41mm model for up to 30 hours with that display behavior.
The 45mm model can reach up to 72 hours in Battery Saver. That number should not be compared directly with the multi-day claims above: Battery Saver changes normal background activity and feature behavior. It is an endurance fallback, not the normal full-featured smartwatch experience.
Who should buy it: readers who prioritize Google services, Wear OS integration, and the Pixel ecosystem, and who accept charging roughly every one to two days during normal use.

Manufacturers use different labels for different workloads. The most useful comparison is to match the claim to the way you will actually use the watch.
Everyday use is not a standardized test
“Smartwatch mode,” “daily use,” “typical use,” “heavy use,” and “maximum” may include different combinations of notifications, health sensors, display activity, phone connection, music, calls, and workouts. Treat these figures as estimates within each manufacturer’s testing framework, not as a universal industry measurement.
GPS mode matters more than the headline for athletes
GPS-only, accurate GPS, power-saving GPS, standard full GPS, and multi-system GPS modes can have very different battery demands. If you regularly record long activities, compare the GPS figure—not just the smartwatch-mode number.

On the researched models, the most relevant specialist figures are:
- COROS VERTIX 2S: up to 118 hours of standard full-GPS use.
- Garmin Enduro 3: up to 120 hours of GPS-only use, or up to 320 hours with solar under stated conditions.
- Amazfit Balance 2: up to 33 hours in accurate GPS mode or 67 hours in power-saving GPS mode.
Even the Garmin and COROS numbers should not be treated as perfectly interchangeable because “GPS-only” and “standard full GPS” are manufacturer-specific descriptions.
Always-on display can change the answer
The HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro illustrates the effect clearly: Huawei lists up to 7 days typical use but up to 4 days with always-on display enabled. Google gives its Pixel Watch 4 figures with always-on display enabled, so those numbers should not be compared with a watch’s estimate made with the display mostly off.

Battery Saver is not normal operation
Power-saving modes can produce a much larger number by reducing background activity or limiting features. That is useful when you are away from a charger, but it should be reported separately from normal use. The Pixel Watch 4’s 72-hour Battery Saver estimate is a good example.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsChoose by your real charging problem
| Your priority | Best match | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Fewest charges possible | Garmin Enduro 3 | Highest everyday and solar-assisted estimates in this group, plus substantial GPS endurance |
| Longest continuous GPS activity | COROS VERTIX 2S or Garmin Enduro 3 | VERTIX 2S offers up to 118 hours of standard full GPS; Enduro 3 offers up to 120 hours GPS-only and higher conditional solar figures |
| Bright display and multi-week everyday life | Amazfit Balance 2 | Up to 21 days typical use, with clearly stated heavy-use and GPS alternatives |
| Slimmer design and several days between charges | HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro | Up to 7 days typical use, but only up to 4 days with always-on display |
| Google ecosystem | Google Pixel Watch 4 | Choose it for platform integration and features, while accepting roughly one-to-two-day normal battery expectations |
How to maximize the battery you actually get
The largest differences between a manufacturer’s estimate and your own result usually come from settings and workload rather than a defective battery. Before judging a watch, account for these variables:
- Display: always-on display, brightness, and frequent screen wake-ups increase consumption.
- GPS: accurate or full-GPS modes generally demand more than power-saving modes. Choose the mode that fits the activity rather than assuming the longest figure is always appropriate.
- Sensors: continuous heart-rate and other health monitoring can change everyday endurance.
- Notifications and phone connection: a steady stream of alerts and persistent connectivity add to the workload.
- Music and calls: music playback and occasional calls are included in some manufacturers’ test scenarios, but heavier use can reduce the result.
- Temperature: outdoor conditions and cold weather can affect battery performance.
- Workouts: frequent or long GPS workouts can make a watch’s everyday claim irrelevant to your routine.
For solar models, also consider whether you routinely spend enough time outdoors. The Enduro 3’s 90-day solar estimate assumes three hours outside per day at 50,000 lux; it should not be used as the normal comparison point for an indoor-heavy lifestyle.
What to expect at purchase
The figures in this guide describe endurance, not value. Prices, stock, current bundles, software updates, regional compatibility, and retailer availability can change. Check the exact case size, current manufacturer specification, and local feature support before ordering. In particular, confirm the 41mm or 45mm Pixel Watch 4 version, whether always-on display is part of the stated estimate, and whether Huawei’s services work as expected in your country.
For the Garmin Enduro 3 and COROS VERTIX 2S, the key question is whether you want an outdoor endurance instrument. For the Amazfit Balance 2 and HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro, the question is whether a more conventional lifestyle watch can provide enough battery for your routine. For the Pixel Watch 4, the trade is explicit: stronger Google integration in exchange for charging much more often.
