What is the black ceramic Bathyscaphe, and when was it released?
The model belongs to Blancpain’s Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe line and pairs a ceramic case and bracelet with a complete calendar and moon-phase complication. Blancpain’s press page dates the announcement to June 27, 2024. Swatch Group’s announcement describes a black ceramic case and bracelet with a blue sunray-brushed gradient dial. The current U.S. product listing, however, identifies reference 5054 0130 01S as having a sunburst black dial. These are distinct descriptions: the announcement’s blue-gradient wording should not be used to describe the black-dial 5054 0130 01S. What does the complete calendar display?
Blancpain uses “complete calendar” for the day, date and month displays. The moon phase is an additional, separate complication—not a substitute for one of those calendar indications. On this watch, the calendar and moon-phase display sit alongside the Bathyscaphe’s dive-watch features.

The rotating bezel is unidirectional, with a black ceramic insert and Liquidmetal hour markers, according to Blancpain. The listed water-resistance rating is 30 bar. Those specifications describe the watch’s dive-watch design; they do not establish suitability for every water activity or replace the owner’s need to follow Blancpain’s care and operating guidance.
What does the black ceramic version cost?
Blancpain’s U.S. product page displayed a price of $31,700 when accessed in 2026. The brand notes that the price may vary depending on strap fastening, so this is a dated U.S. listing rather than a universal or fixed price. What should buyers know about the ceramic claims and strap options?
Swatch Group’s 2024 announcement says ceramic is nearly five times harder than stainless steel and 25% lighter. These are the manufacturer’s comparative material claims, not independent test results for this particular watch. Blancpain lists ceramic, sail-canvas and NATO strap materials for the reference family. That listing does not by itself establish that any aftermarket strap will fit or that a particular replacement strap is available.

Reference 5054 0130 01S is the current U.S.-listed black sunburst-dial version. Blancpain’s product page also displays related references, including 5054 0140 01S and 5054 0153 B52A; their presence does not make their configurations interchangeable with the 01S. The 2024 announcement’s blue-gradient dial description belongs to its announced variant, not the black dial specified for 5054 0130 01S.
