The Bohen Mille-Mer pairs a manufacturer-rated 1,000 m depth capability with a distinctive internal date magnifier suspended beneath its domed sapphire crystal. Its headline engineering is concrete: a crown at 12 o’clock, a helium escape valve and a 60-click ceramic bezel. The trade-offs are equally important for a buyer: Bohen specifies a 43 mm bezel and 17.5 mm height including the dome, and its current listings show limited stock. The specifications below are Bohen’s; no independent depth test or hands-on assessment is established here.
What makes the Mille-Mer different?
An internal date magnifier under the dome
The most unusual design feature is the date magnifier inside the crystal, held between the sapphire and the hands by two bridges. Bohen says the bridges solve a practical problem: a magnifier cannot be attached to a domed crystal in the usual way. This places the date lens within the watch rather than on the crystal’s outer surface. The brand presents it as a central innovation; the construction is a design distinction, not proof of better performance.
Bohen’s blue-dial specification page also describes the sapphire as double-coated on the inside. The case is specified as SS316L steel, with a grade 5 titanium caseback. Bohen’s blue Mille-Mer specification gives the full construction details.
Purpose-built dive-watch features
Bohen lists a 60-click ceramic rotating bezel, helium escape valve and crown at 12 o’clock. Those details signal a tool-watch brief, but the published depth rating should be read as a manufacturer specification: the reviewed sources do not establish an independent depth-test report or formal certification.

The crown position is an uncommon visual choice. Whether it is more comfortable depends on the wearer and wrist; the available evidence does not establish a wearability advantage.
Size, materials and changing the strap
Bohen gives the Mille-Mer a 43 mm rotating-bezel diameter and 50 mm length. Height is 15.9 mm excluding the sapphire dome and 17.5 mm including it. The strap width is 24 mm. These are manufacturer figures rather than independently measured dimensions, and the 17.5 mm overall height is worth considering if a watch needs to fit beneath a close-fitting cuff.
The manufacturer lists a steel bracelet with an integrated universal link, an included silicone strap and a micro-adjustable buckle. It also says bracelet and strap changes can be made without tools. The page does not identify a third-party replacement strap model, so check fit and compatibility with Bohen before buying an alternative.

Other listed details include antimagnetic construction, Incabloc shock protection, a Glucydur balance, rhodium treatment, a Côtes de Genève rotor and pearled bridges. Water resistance and lume: what the claims mean
Bohen rates the Mille-Mer at 100 ATM, 1,000 m or 3,300 ft. Those are the manufacturer’s stated equivalents; the reviewed sources do not provide an independent test report. A high published rating alone does not establish suitability for a particular dive, so buyers who intend to use the watch underwater should confirm the manufacturer’s operating and maintenance guidance.

As checked on October 7, 2026, Bohen’s collection listing priced each dial at €3,590 including tax. That page marked the black dial, listed as a 500-piece edition, out of stock; blue and grey, each listed as an 80-piece edition, were marked “last pieces.” These edition quantities describe the stated editions, not verified production totals or remaining inventory. The collection page is the relevant source for those variant statuses.
A separate Bohen product listing also showed €3,590 including VAT but marked the watch unavailable. The variant and inventory records may differ, so confirm the exact dial and availability with the manufacturer before placing an order: Bohen’s separate Mille-Mer product listing.

For context only, WatchTested reported an initial price of €1,659 in its September 11, 2021 launch coverage. That is a historical launch-era figure, not a current offer, and the available information does not establish that it is directly comparable to today’s tax-inclusive listing. The same article reproduced founder Blaise-Dominique Giuliani’s description of the watch as a “high-tech tool”; this is a secondary-source quotation, not a verified primary interview transcript. WatchTested’s 2021 report provides that launch context.
How to assess it against another dive watch
The Mille-Mer’s design is distinctive, but the available information does not support ranking it against competing watches or calling it better value. Compare like with like on the points that affect ownership:
- Fit: Compare the 43 mm bezel diameter, 50 mm length and 17.5 mm height including dome with the dimensions of other watches you can wear comfortably.
- Depth rating: Check whether the other manufacturer’s rating, like Bohen’s, is a published specification or backed by documentation of independent testing.
- Movement: Weigh the stated reserve, regulation and specifications alongside practical service access and cost, which are not established on the Mille-Mer pages cited here.
- Bracelet and straps: Compare clasp adjustment and how readily you can change straps; confirm compatibility before buying non-Bohen replacements.
- Ownership terms: Check current price, warranty, stock and after-sales access for the exact variant. The cited Bohen pages do not state warranty terms.
A 2024 Présent Magazine feature identifies Giuliani as Bohen’s founder and discusses the internal date magnifier as the Mille-Mer’s innovation. It offers context on the brand’s emphasis on detail and finishing, rather than independent evidence that the watch outperforms alternatives. Read the 2024 Présent Magazine feature.
